It worked, largely because of Myles Garrett. Garrett is gone. Alex Wright is gone. And Rutenberg is installing a defensive system built on deception and disguise rather than raw push."

calfoxwc

Reply to Jared Verse on Mon, 28 Sep 2026 15:30:34 GMT

Verse hasn't been generating as much purely off the edge. So Coach Rut found some new ways to get him involved - mostly using him to set picks on stunts. It's a selfless job, but one he generated a few pressures on even when he isn't the 'point man' setup to do so.

He isn't prime Myles, but this front is working together collectively MUCH better these past couple weeks. The bulk of our pressures have been from the interior work. There's certainly nothing wrong with that provided we get even average play on the edge.

tiamat63

Reply to Jared Verse on Mon, 28 Sep 2026 15:22:06 GMT

Verse was doing some interesting things in defensive alignments yesterday.
