<p>
missed a game winning kick vs the Jets his Rookie year (2004)</p>
<p>
in his 3rd year missed a kick that would have sent a game vs NE to OT (2006)</p>
<p>
came into todays game making like 67 straight kicks, today is 0-3 in a game that SD is down by 10  with 5 minutes left</p>
<p>
the Chargers need a kicker who can be successful in the post-season if they want to win Kaeding isnt far off 50% while </p>
<p>
Dawson is getting older he might not be around when we make the playoffs but Kaeding has another 7-8 years so if </p>
<p>

what phil may have lost in distance, he's made up for in the clutch imo.  he doesn't rattle easily, he understands how wind and field conditions affect a kick, and he can kick in poor weather.  just knowing this eases my mind when he lines up.  </p>

Dawson has years left and is one of the best, especially in our stadium that scares the crap out of opposing kickers come late in the year. I think he may still be looking for a contract though, I don't think that was resolved this year but he got hurt which didn't help him.</p>
