As he prepared for the NFL draft, Weeden recently took part in an experiment on an episode of ESPN's ''Sports Science,'' where the former Oklahoma State star and one-time minor league baseball pitcher fired footballs at clay targets traveling at 43 mph.

Launch speed... not what they were traveling in the "kill zone".

During one stretch he downed four out of five, blasting the soaring projectiles into smithereens.

''Pretty impressive,'' said wide receiver Josh Cooper, Weeden's college teammate who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Browns. ''It's hard to do that with a shotgun.''

No, it's not... Trap is hard... Skeet is easy...

Weeden's arm strength has been well-documented, and not just by the TV science experiment. While in college, he dislocated two of Cooper's fingers with missiles over the middle.

Dislocated fingers = power??? Give me a break.

''For how old he is,'' he said, laughing. ''He's a very mobile quarterback.''

    Now that's funny...

Two things I take away watching this:

    A. It seems that Weeden has a fairly quick release and can make snap throws. (no big Tebow like windup on his throws)

    B. He doesn't seem like the big statue that some said he was. He might not be RGIII or even Luck, but his mobility does not seem any worse than the other QBs in this division, Flacco, BR, or Dalton.

    A. He has a bit of a pitcher wind up... and a wind up is the antithisis of a "quick release". His release is average at best.

    B. Not worse than three stiffs... high praise indeed...

    A. I don't see what you are seeing. Are you sure you are not watching a Tebow highlight film?

    B. As for the 3 stiffs, they all took their teams to the playoffs last year. Flacco should have been in the SB except for Lee Evans dropped pass.

(By the way....can we say that that play is the Ravens version of Red Right 88, The Drive, The Fumble

    i.e "The Drop".)
