This is interesting from Rotoworld:

BTW, this is how it works when you have real coaches coaching:

"Coach Rob Chudzinski was not ready to commit to Brandon Weeden as the starting quarterback on Thursday.

"I feel good about where we're at right now," Chudzinski said. "He's been working with the first group and we'll just see as we go forward. ... Right now it's too early to say anything one way or another." The Browns brought in Jason Campbell as a free agent, but that's all they've done to bolster the position. "I expect both of these guys to compete," Chud added. "I'm hoping that the best man wins the job and that he gives us a chance to win." It's typical coachspeak.

The Browns have been working on Weeden's mechanics and delivery,

and he's the overwhelming favorite to open the season as the starter.

Browns could have really heped Weeden by acquiring a decent tighte end who can get open and catch the ball. Alas, and incredibly stupidly, they did not. Browns may have the worst group of TE's in pro football. And that hurts Weeden a lot.

Cameron had some great games last year, but also disappeared at times. But, I think he played well enough when he was in to warrant the starting positition especially given his size and athleticism. Adding 2 vets to back him up, especially good run-blockers, rounds out a solid TE group. It all depends on Cameron's consistency getting open, which we have all seen he is capable of doing...

Who would we have replaced him with that we know would be better, when we don't even know how good he is as a starter at this point in his career?
