McDaniels Withdraws From Coaching Candidacy

"And this would sadly end the hopes of a McDaniels-Tebow reunion in Cleveland, which would have been so perfect on so many levels."
Is this supposed to be a dig, or was the writer serious?

Serious, I'm sure.
Tebow would finally reverse the curse put on Cleveland. After all, God wouldn't want to punish his own son.
Imagine having Manziel and Tebow on the same roster. Football Jesus and Johnny Football.
Our team would have been exciting, at the very least.

Im convinced, despite the team lease at FES . there is a conspiracy to move the team to LA...kiss football in cleveland goodbye!

Chill out- like it or not Cleveland is stuck with the Browns.

How much money did they just put into FES, Nickers?
Maybe it was an elaborate SMOKESCREEN, and Jimmy Haslam is Art Modell's blood brother from summer camp, here to turn the knife deeper into our backs?
Exactly- why in the hell would Haslam bother to sink $60 million of his own money into a stadium renovation, if there was any chance in hell of moving the team? Even if you're a freaking billionaire, $60 million isn't exactly chump change.
Contracts and leases were made to be broken and If money is involved..(and we all know it is) if the NFL thinks it benificial they will relocate the browns for greener pastures and more lucrative dollars in LA,Or whereever they feel the best climate helps them. And yes Haslam's performance as an owner has knee jerk and cause for concern..
Nothing would surprise Me of a "buyout Allowing Haslam to move..they made consesions twice for the late Al Davis. you better believe there's a loophole somewhere..I hope it never comes to that...but 20 years of football futility isnt helping and so far...neither is Haslam.
There's a loophole? You forget the best lawyers in Cleveland- who happened to be Browns fans, drew up the lease? FYI the City of Cleveland holds the lease (which expires in 2028 BTW- and will probably be extended). You can damn bet the city would make the Brown honor it, especially since they're tossing public money into the renovations.
There's far more likely candidates for a move- the Chargers can pick up and go anytime they want to, and the Jags attendance is pitiful- you want to talk about mistakes, the NFL made a colossal blunder putting an NFL franchise in that market.

The Browns aren't going anywhere. As you said, Haslam isn't going to drop 60 million of his own clams with the intent to pull out of town in a year or two, not to mention the legal hoops the team would have to jump through to make that happen.

My gosh at this point if they move and its anything like hiring a coach, they might have trouble finding a city that would take em! Which really speaks as to how far the team has fallen and its sad.
