That's what the Browns need. A legitimate alpha male who turns this entire franchise around because he's too proud to associate with a loser. Only then will this franchise completely leave this losing shit in the past.

Well... don't think I see a QB in this Draft filling that bill. When has there been? Winston? Luck? Griffin?

But Belichik isn't using a slide rule to pick his talent. He won a SB with a rag tag OL including a walk on.

I think the evidence of finding adequate, complementary, rag-tag support for over a decade precisely supports a slide-rule approach. Identifying value to fill needs.

But it is not Bill's slide rule... it's his personnel counterpart's. Bill's genius is building around the strengths of who he is given while hiding their weaknesses.

He's also pretty good I think at spotting strengths that haven't been seen by others, or masked by weaknesses. Of course, it's a lot easier to do this When your QB is Tom Brady, not Brady Quinn.

  • True, but we have to remember that QBs are not immune to his magic, e.g., Matt Cassel.

Would Brady have had the career he has had under another HC in another org?

Sure, you can maximise strengths and minimise weaknesses of all positions, it's just very handy that a guy like brady has huge strengths and not so many weaknesses. He's not exactly a running threat, for example, and their scheme doesn't exactly churn out all-pro rushing backs, yet they still manage to keep Ds from just blitzing every down.
