    LOL.

He has had every opportunity on a bad defense in Cleveland. He's not going to make it in New England.

Role player at best if he sticks.

And M(Bingo) was his name Oh.. Amazing how one dead to right missed tackle at GB, lead to a 3rd string vs. Atlanta. Than out the Door.. Again I like this Coaching Staff 🙂

    Fifth rounder? eh......

that's practically nothing. how many fifth rounders are impact? we have to get really lucky to hit.

i'm by no means a mingo fan (screamed at the TV when we drafted him), but damn, have to get some kind of investment on our return.

He blows, we were probably going to cut him.

He was playing in the 4th quarter of the last preseason game, that investment has already blown out the window, I am glad we salvaged something for him.

Agreed. Apparently there were cap implications of dropping him, but I couldn't foresee Mingo giving us anything substantial on the field.

    Happy with the return, personally.

That's literally not how the NFL works in any way shape or form. Mingo sucked and it doesn't matter if he was the 1st or last pick. 5th rounder is honestly more than I thought it would be.

Not many 5th rounders have huge impact. The top performers coming out of the 5th round from 2010 to 2014 are as follows:

    Richard Sherman

    Cam Chancellor

    Reshad Jones

    Kendrick Lewis

    Josh Norman

    Buster Skrine

    Riley Cooper

Some good players, but yes, they are few and far between.

Mingo should be embarrassed. seems he just wasn't all that into the game. or something.

The Emperor Mingo gone .....Manziel gone ....just Gilbert and Shelton to shift of our first round draft picks who are not very good ....

Exactly. These coaches don't know how to utilize dick.

Yea, well, yes, he was one of the best 5th round performers that came out in that 5 year period. That should tell you what that 5th round pick may be worth.

I agree, we trade a 6th overall pick for a fifth rounder.

However, Mingo was going to be a FA at the end of the 2016 season.

I'm glad we were able to get something out of him.

As has been said, he appeared on his way to being cut and we should be happy that we got SOMETHING for him.

I didn't like the pick from instant one......but I like the guy. He did everything we asked him to do without complaining. He played an entire season with one arm. Granted he was never very good.

    I wish him well.

sheard - browns. shows great motor. knows how to get after QB.

browns solution: have him play OLB. patriots: have him play his position DE.

    mingo - ditto.

  • C calfoxwc wrote on last edited by

that opens the door to a position spot for one of the instinctive, physical lb's.

Just makes sense. Good luck to Mingo - until he's with the patriot scum and is on the roster. ?

man if the patriots are scum then i guess i'd hope the browns were at least filth.

LMK when the franchise in NE ohio now, as it is, compares to what the patriots have done the last 2 decades............and i ain't talking pre 90s.

    bunch of homers.
