I'm on the verge of locking this one Tex.... We have a Madden GM who won't give up. Would having Rodgers be a (slight) upgrade this year? Yes. But someone here isn't thinking long term. Unlike Andrew Berry- who IS. On top of that, totally ignoring the cap consequences of what adding a $37 million cap hit would do to the team- like mean the departure of several key Browns- because we can't fit them AND Rodgers under the cap. Finally, you can't rationally try and say Rodgers is going to have another 6 productive seasons- like the mother of all QB outliers- Tom Brady has had.
BTW- just having a HOF qb on your roster doesn't guarantee multiple Super Bowl wins- just ask Dan Fouts or Dan Marino about that.

First off- Mr. Madden GM- Green Bay isn't trading Adams for OBJ straight up- not with Beckham coming off that ACL.
Secondly, I'll let you buy a clue... Brady is a unique situation- outside of his amazing ability to cheat Father Time. His wife probably makes more money than he does.... Lotsa luck if you think Rodgers can do a repeat longevity performance on that account. To my knowledge, no other QB has come close to matching Brady's performance on the high side of 40. George Blanda made it that far- when he gave up being a QB, and turned to kicking field goals instead. FWIW, Roethlisberger is one year older than Rodgers- and about everyone here thinks he's running on fumes. That's the norm for QBs, don't try using Brady as the exception that proves the rule.
So I'll answer the clue for you why Rodgers probably wants out of Green Bay. It's odds on he's not happy being only around the 12th highest paid player in the NFL. He's Jonesying for a big fat raise. Which incidentally, the Browns would have no way of paying- short of totally gutting the offense.

Name the players you'll cut to make cap in 2021. Not in theory - what's their names and salaries? Hint: At present, after rookies are signed, we'll be right at the cap.
The OL? Nope, need that to keep the geriatric, immobile, brittle Rodgers upright. The rest of the WR corps? Nope -- Davante gets no catches in triple coverage. The defense? Last year's D barely made the playoffs, and your plan is.. to make it worse?
