★ NFL WEEK 13 ★ Cleveland's BYE week could it be perfect timing ? AFCN, AFC. ~~ MNF ~~.

The Browns Board

  • Is this going to be the narrative for this week and next ?  Does Stefanski know something that we don't know ?  (You'd hope so..... I guess.)

Is Mayfield the best bet to beat Baltimore in two weeks ?  We sure hope so !   https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-coach-kevin-stefanski-has-no-plans-to-bench-qb-baker-mayfield-why-would-w

The Cleveland Browns offense has scored a grand total of 27 points over the past three games, including Sunday night's 10-point output in a six-point loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Despite the offensive struggles, coach Kevin Stefanski stood steadfast behind quarterback Baker Mayfield. Pressed on whether there could be a QB change during the club's bye week, Stefanski responded: "No. Let me ask you a question, Why would we do that? We're not doing that."

Mayfield has been dealing with shoulder, foot and knee injuries but has played in five straight games after missing Week 7's win over Denver. In the past three weeks, Mayfield has completed 50.6% of his passes for 165.3 yards per game with a 3-3 TD-INT ratio and a 65.1 passer rating........ continued.......

The thing is, if he's medically cleared to play, but you play the backup instead, then you are benching the starting QB...'coach's decision'.  Is that the road that we want to go down?  "Why would we do that?" Stef said.  The starter is the starter because he's the best QB on the team.  But that doesn't preclude Berry from keeping his eyes, ears and mind open during the offseason....based on the body of work.

Browns' Callie Brownson will coach US womens national tackle football team this summer in Finland at the world championships.

First question: Womens tackle football is a thing?

Oh yeah it's tackle football but just a little bit different than the men's game.

So far this game smells like an under.  But most easy points are in the second half.

Taysom Hill must have blackmail on somebody, he's not an NFL QB.. it's fun to watch the Saints light their salary cap on fire to keep him around.

can't pull for other teams... but while some do ?

The Browns are more likely to not make the playoffs..

As we get ready to make our Week 13 picks, though, let’s quickly highlight which games would possibly do the Browns a favor as far as their playoff odds go:

    • Chargers (6-5) vs. Bengals (7-4): This is a tough one, because we don’t want either team to win. However, I’m going to say that we want the Bengals to win here because it knocks the Chargers down (a team that holds a tiebreaker against Cleveland). Also, since the Browns beat the Bengals, the chance for a season sweep and tiebreaker against the Bengals still exists.
    • Colts (6-6) vs. Texans (2-7): While it’s unlikely, it’d be better for the Texans to send the Colts below .500. Maybe Carson Wentz still has a dud left in him?
    • Ravens (8-3) vs. Steelers (5-5-1): This is a tough one, because it’s tempting to want Baltimore to lose this week, then lose against the Browns after our bye, and then lose against the Packers. That sets up the possibility of these two teams being tied in a few weeks. And ultimately, I’m not threatened by Pittsburgh’s long-term odds, even though they beat the Browns. I’d go for Pittsburgh to win here.
    • Broncos (6-5) vs. Chiefs (7-4): We should root for the Broncos to win, since Cleveland owns a tiebreaker over them. Even if Kansas City ultimately finishes atop the division, it opens the door for Denver to cancel out Los Angeles’ tiebreaker win over Cleveland.
    • Patriots (8-4) vs. Bills (7-4): It’s hard to imagine Buffalo missing the playoffs, but the fact is that New England already owns a tiebreaker over Cleveland, so we might as well root for them to take out the wildcard contenders for us.
