Serious question tex does that sound a little bit like cutting off our noses to spite our face or in this case the Russians?
Do you not think it would be helpful resume United States oil and gas production the previous level? Then at least we could sell somebody some of hours rather than begging the Saudis?

Keep importing Russian oil. Sanctions while a “inconvenience” have proven to be less effective then one would hope. If oil prices are really an issue Americans can walk when possible, car pool, stop traveling, etc. Even that may not work if demand is lessened OPEC & Russia can collude as they did during the pandemic and cut supply driving the price back up.
