3. I believe they would have won two more games if they had played Case Keenum against Pittsburgh (twice). Baker Mayfield was beat up. I hope they learned something from that. They also lost 16-10 to Baltimore with Mayfield looking physically worn out.
Here's the problem I have with that; if the medical team is telling you ('you' are the HC) that the starting QB is medically cleared to play...and the player tells you that he's good to play...and he partakes in practices...and yet you decide to start the backup...what reason are you going to give?
a) You're gonna say that your medical team is crap? You're sitting him because he's hurt?
b) You're sitting him because you think the backup is better.
Those are the choices. You certainly can't say, I'm not going to start him because he's in a slump.

You play Baker, and when he shows he isn't better, you play the sub. Players are always going to say they are good to go....well, at least most are.

Yup...but that kicks the can to the next corner. We'd already been seeing less than stellar games. And so being medically cleared to play now you're benching him because he stinks (I mean, he doesn't have his 'A' game)...and Stef just refused to pull him for performance reasons.
edit and add: I'll go further and hypothesize that maybe, in some small part, Stef didn't play Keenum because Baker would've become a team morale issue. All we know for sure is that Stef was steadfast, the whole time, that Baker would start if healthy.

I don't see it that way. Being medically cleared in this case didn't mean he would be able to play at 100%. Doctors aren't commenting on a players ability to play in top form. They are simply saying that from a medial standpoint he isn't or wasn't going to cause further damage. The muscle was torn. It couldn't tear any further and it being torn wasn't going to cause other problems if he played.

I hate to risk the money on the injury-prone Clowney and Jarvis concerns me. But...

I have been waiting to see what Terry Pluto has to say because he's usually the most rational and objective of sportswriters. His take is probably the right one which makes the front office backstabbing even more indefensible but that aside I certainly don't want Watson as the face of the Cleveland Browns. Only because of his legal troubles for his problems getting along with the team prior to those coming to light.

Bad move calling out fellow players even though he wasn't specific and it's probably true.

This whole farce gets more ridiculous by the hour... I hope Baker finds a home soon...

Obviously that was his twin brother Billy Mayfield doing all the talking.?

As an aside Terry Pluto is one of the few things that tour and I could agree wholeheartedly on.

Get it free while ya can..
1) Haslam hates losses to the Yitzer's
2) short week... I don't want to see D'Ernest Johnson in street clothes this game?
I'll be at the game tomorrow night, sitting in the upper deck, so I'll get a great view of the secondary all night long.
2nd job ! Keep Haslam in his owners booth.. avoid walks from sidelines to tunnels
The freaks come out at night
What time does the tailgating lots open? Get us a Win !

Terry nailed it Steve.. This team has gotten progressively worse... If Stefanski doesn't right the ship soon, he's going to lose the locker room... And he's cooked.
Part of the problem outside of Myles, the defensive line stinks, and can't get any pressure on the quarterback, but the defensive backfield was supposed to be a strength. And we're seeing opposing wide receivers still running free uncovered in the Browns secondary. Yeah, Joe gotta go.
I agree, Brisette was sucking so badly- there was no reason not to pull him in favor of Dobbs- not like you'd be benching Josh Allen. Ruin his confidence? Ahem, we made the Patriots third string rookie quarterback look like Tom Brady. Revolting.
Speaking of Josh, I'm about ready to shit-can my bucket list trip to Buffalo later in the year. Eight hours of driving to witness a blowout would be a huge waste of money. Even though I'd only need one night in a hotel and a game ticket.

I think Kevvy has already lost it... I Think next were gonna see a revolt on defense... I think these players have to be sick of Joe "motherfucking" Woods... He's neutering these boys... We need a DC with an aggressive get after it defense... I'm sick of this namby pamby shit...
