Isaiah Weston out of Northern Iowa was carted off midway through practice with a knee injury that appears to be serious.

Poopys!  I wanted that guy to be a diamond in the rough.  Big & Fast.  Now he's broken and gone...

I had the guy penciled in to get to our PS via some pre-season games... His ACL is not tore, but needs surgery..

Berry had to waive Weston as injured.. But if he is not picked up injured? I guess my question would be?

Does UDFA's still not roll back into our IR system? He'd be a good piece to keep, to see hands-on pro ball a year

  • Unless there has been a complete 180 from November, the IDL situation looks incredibly shakey when you see Taven Bryan listed as a starter.

Biggest hole on the team, IMO.

I miss Malik McDowell already ?..

When you broke down Dawson Deaton? Did he show any back-up Guard potential?

  • Johnny Stanton listed as a TE.

He was the one that went 'basket case' one day right?  Runnin' around naked?  Pancaked by a cop?

  • I gotta keep my boyz record straight..

    Naked ✔️

    Malik Pancakes the cop ✔️

gets naked raked by the stiffs hedges found in Florida behind said cop ✔️

than gets stun gunned  ✔️  (game over)

    I still check in..

He still thinks he was laced at a gym by someone...

The Florida Cop he bulldozed is Suing McDowell.. no fla. court date yet..

this went down in mid Jan. of this year..

Definitely a concern.  I was hoping the Browns would address this in the draft; and where we landed Winfrey could be a blessing.  That said, it wasn't the priority it should have been.

My guess is we'll add some DTs as rosters get trimmed or if there's money leftover to sign any veteran FAs still out there.

    Not something I had considered.

He has the dimensions for it.  Height, weight, wingspan and for our particular brand of outside zone, quick feet.   I don't see why he couldn't be given those looks at guard.

However the strength of his game mainly rested on his eyes and decision making in pass pro as a center.  I mentioned it before, but the times he was free to absolutely maul Overshown from Texas, he passed on that in favor of just being a bigger body in the way.

So a transition to guard means I'm going to need to see a bit more willingness to win contact with strength, leverage, technique and a nasty attitude.

Of course a shift to guard would mean that Harris is looking good, and Pocic can be a competent backup (God forbid) if needed.  At which point, sure.  You can begin looking past Bito retiring and towards the development of a long term replacement that is already on roster.

This is a bummer.  I think we are okay with Felton- he’s obviously secure now.  I expect him to make a big leap from Year 1 and 2 as a pass catcher and a returner

  • gumby's guy didn't last long.    What's Jojo Natson doing?

so disappointed that/that was the only football link I'll read today ?...  that just sucks..we just can't have nice things

I became a fan of J.Grant's play style, watching him play a preseason game against Cleveland vs. Miami a few years ago.I think Grant was a rookie back than? I can't blame Mike Priefer for putting a target on this guy 2 years ago

This loss should hopefully require Berry to jump past the UDFA WR market...

Wishing you the best of luck in your recovery Jakeem Grant.. ?

  • As much as I like having Felton as a utility, there is no duplicating Jakeems acceleration and impact on the return game.  That's not including him having a role as a receiver and taking over that lateral threat on the jets we originally envisioned for Schwartz.

Field position will be huge for this team the first 6-8 games. This loss is bigger than most think.

It sucks!  That said, I like your thinking about Felton.

I remember the 1st time Josh Cribbs tried to return a punt when Northcutt was injured.  It didn't go well. The early conclusion after the growing pains was Northcutt wasn't replaceable in the return game.  We all know what happened when Northcutt departed.  The Browns upgraded the return game with Cribbs.

we did and I was not a northcutt fan…I thought he lacked basic football IQ meaning he did a lot of stupid things and his drops were killers (see the playoff game vs. Steelers).

I think I’m higher on Felton than most.  I watch a lot of late night PAC12 football and he impressed me at UCLA when they weren’t trying to run him between the tackles. He’s not a traditional running back in our scheme.

I think he benefits a lot arguably the most having professional QB play from guys like Watson and Brissett where the ball is out before the Break and in a spot where he’s not breaking stride.

Return game I’d be naive to think he would overshadow or be on par with a guy like Grant but the potential to get better is there.

BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver and kick returner Jakeem Grant Sr. has a torn Achilles and will miss the entire 2022 season after being placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

I think it might be an ideal role to get Felton in open fields. He just needs the experience; and this is the time of year to get him the game day reps.

I was never a Northcutt fan either.  That said, he was very reliable as a punt returner.
