I listen to a tech podcast when I mow the yard. Those geeks say "you have to turn of mobile updates - nobody uses them" for exactly the reason you discovered.

To respond to Don Carey, just hover your mouse over the Tweet and click the curved arrow on the right side of the box.

Agree Twitter has a teeny-bopper element - a turn off. But if you follow just news feeds and a few people, its pretty good. However, the way I use it, it's not that different than a good RSS feeder like Google Reader.

Don Carey might be shooting for a few Brown-ie points, but at least he's jacked up.
