  • Yep, fixed, gracious.

Very complimentary of Quinn. Confirms Pluto's comments who felt Quinn was the decided starter month's ago.

  • Wonder if we caught her in an update? We'll see. Link sure isn't working.

First time I used the link, the link to her article was on that index page but the article itself was missing. The second time I went there, the link to her article was gone.

    Lum's probably involved.

  • (No clue on why the PD article vanished into thin air)

3:30:09 pm The Vikings brought in a left-footed punter today to help the returners in adjusting to Cleveland P Dave Zastudil's punts. WRs Percy Harvin and Darius Reynaud were the players fielding the punts. Coach Brad Childress would not say who is No. 1 PR is, but the guess is it'll be Reynaud.

3:25:50 pm It seems certain that Josh Cribbs will play quite a bit Sunday at WR, giving the team more athleticism at that position. "We just tell the receivers that their main jobs are to get open and catch the ball," said Browns offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. "Guys have different ways of doing that."

3:21:32 pm Though he said there was nobody on the defense whose performance has surprised him, Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan did praise LB Kamerion Wimbley. Wimbley has displayed a strong balance of stopping the run and rushing the QB in exhibition games.

3:20:20 pm Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said his team must temper aggressiveness with intelligence. "You can send everyone on the roster and say you're aggressive," he said, "but if you give up 90 yards on a screen for a touchdown, that's not aggressive. That's stupid." The Browns have struggled to put pressure on QBs.

3:17:14 pm What can't Vikings RB Adrian Peterson do? According to Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan - nothing. "He has balance, vision, power, speed, athleticism and competitiveness," he said. "Did I forget anything. I saw him in commercials and he even did a good job in those."

3:13:13 pm Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is wary of Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe, who scored seven TDs a year ago. "He reminds me of Antonio Gates in the passing game," he said. "Looking at him on tape, he shocks you. He's a physical talent and competitive blocker."

3:11:55 pm Can Browns NT Shaun Rogers play to the best of his ability after not having participated in one preseason game? Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is asking the same question. "You don't know until you see him play and we haven't seen him play," he said.

2:22:45 pm Browns rookie RB James Davis on playng his first regular season game: "You have to adjust because the game speeds up," he said. "But anyone who has read the playbook and watched all the film is going to be fine. I've been playing football since I was 3 years old. I don't get nervous anymore."

2:22:05 pm The Vikings are strong from end to end along their defensive line, but Browns OL Floyd Womack isn't approaching his task any differently this week. "Game in and game out, you're going to play against great guys," he said. "You have to go in with that feeling every week."

2:21:29 pm One Browns rookie whose playing time will be of interest Sunday will be WR Mohamed Massaquoi. He is listed behind only Josh Cribbs and Braylon Edwards on the depth chart, though veteran Mike Furrey will play as well. "I'm still learning and maturing every day," said Massaquoi, who outplayed rookie WR Brian Robiskie in the preseason.

2:19:20 pm There's a fine line between respect and intimidation. The Browns offensive linemen say they won't cross it when in regard to the Vikings' imposing DL on Sunday. "We give them a lot of respect; they're definitely good," said C Hank Fraley. "But as a line we just have to go out and block."

2:17:53 pm Will Browns TE Robert Royal play a large role as an outlet receiver this week because of the Vikings' furious pass rush? He wouldn't say specifically. "Whatever the play call is, I have to execute it," he said. "It doesn't matter if it's a deep or short route."

  • I love it.

The Mangini new era of agressive football is now.

The most exciting part, will be watching the difference that Mack makes at center:

Alex Mack is by far the most intelligent offensive lineman in this year's NFL Draft.

His wrestling background, combined with his intelligence and brute strength figure

well into the transition to the NFL. An excellent pick for the Cleveland Browns.

  • oh and also before i forget, let us all not get too critical on DA now. Remember, one injury to BQ and It would be DA out there leading us than Brett Ratliff. Any Ratliff fans here who feel he should get the start ? I thought so.

  • 1st and foremost, I'm happy that Quinn is finally starting, he should have started game one last year....

However I'll temper my excitement until I see how he performs against the Steelers and Dick LeBeau...

Beat those asswhipes and I'll be your biggest supporter... Thats the final test as far as I'm concerned....

    Peace

  • I am excited to see how a rob ryan 3-4 looks and attacks an offense.

  • So the big question is... Did the coach who sat the QB candidates in the last preseason game play, or sit, the starter in the last practice before regular season?

Yeah thats what happened. DA actually won the competition. We'll find out soon enough. Did you really feel that DA played like a guy who should start? Quinn needed to fall flat on his face and DA needed at least 2 TD's and no INT's. For a guy who started 25 games he didn't play like a starter.
