Brady Quinn will be the Browns' starting quarterback.
The official announcement came Sunday morning as the Browns and Vikings submitted their gameday inactives and lineup changes 90 minutes before kickoff. Quinn and Derek Anderson had been in an open competition for the job since the spring.
Quinn, the second of the Browns' two first-round picks in 2007, started three games last year and won one before suffering a season-ending injury. He grew up in Dublin, Ohio, outside of Columbus and was a four-year starter at Notre Dame.
Quinn will be taking snaps from rookie center Alex Mack.
