Crazy trade, they gave up their #1 WR and a ton to draft a QB. Not sure who the rookie will throw to, their offense wasn't stellar.
Huge gamble.
-
i am sure people like nickers would have said just to keep baker LOL but seriously which QB do you think they will grab
I think Bryce Young. CJ Stroud was "better" at the combine but his unwillingness to use his legs at tOSU is an immeasurable stat IMHO.
Anthony Richardson from Fla, I wonder where he lands. Maybe Green Bay, if Rodgers leaves. Maybe a "project" type QB since he didn't play a ton.

I can’t believe that team is 16-18. They could be 18-18 (huge task to get there considering the game tomorrow). Sneak in as a 10 seed after all this and they will be a problem if they continue on this way.
any idea what teams to gamble on next weekend ?

You need the guy though at that position. And you do whatever it takes to find them. Waiting at 9…you get your third and fourth choice maybe and you’re back to the drawing board in three years.
Will Levis couldn’t beat out Sean Clifford.
They will bring someone in with that pick- throw a journeyman QB in for the first 10-12 games.

True, but we all know it's 50/50 these top rated QBs pan out in the NFL. May even be worse than 50/50.
Time will tell. The NFC South looks to be fairly wide open, maybe Carolina's gamble pays off.

Some Bboard members can let go of the fact that we gave up three 1st rounders for Watson. Compare that trade to this trade.- Three 1st rounders, a 3rd and two 4ths, for Watson and a 6th.
- Two 1st rounders, Two 2nd rounders, and a #1 WR, just to go up 8 places.
The point is about the valuations about draft capital. Not about Watson, so please let's not turn the discussion into that. What the Panthers gave up is at least comparable, just to go up 8 (!!!) places in the draft. 1st rounders ain't worth jack!

I’ve watched maybe 10 OSU games this year otherwise I haven’t followed college basketball that much this year…I was actually hoping to hear from some of you on here.
Im a college football guy and MMA.
Sister Jean likes Kentucky.
UCLA defense looks real good

I heard they just lost their best defensive player for the season.
ya they did in fact they lost another guy also but still looked damn good

And the end of an era ?
The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly planning to release Matt Ryan after one year, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The move comes after he was benched for Sam Ehlinger and later Nick Foles during the season.
He leaves the team with a 4-12 record in his starts. He recorded 14 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and a career-high 15 fumbles on 67 percent pass completion. Ryan will still receive $12 million from the Colts, a guarantee that was not in his previous contract.
Now the 37-year-old will have the option to explore free agency, or not. "I gotta see how it shakes out but I still love playing and honestly I still feel like there's a lot of good football in my body," Ryan told the Indianapolis Star in January, when asked about his future. --- continued on Yahoo Sports -->

What does the signing of a DE & DT in FA do to our 1st pick in the draft? The end of legal tampering ends in 20 ours or so, so we're very early into the process. Things can and will change. But...those 2 positions are not the emergencies that they were a couple of days ago. Certainly, it doesn't preclude a DT from being taken. But now you can think more seriously about a Safety, LB'er or WR that seems to be coming available.

Jesus, just stick your head in an oven already.

Honestly, it would be easier to name the positions that are very unlikely to be picked with the 2nd round pick.
There's QB, kicker, punter... ?

So you're saying we're good with our long snapper.
