A man who threatened a group of nonviolent Black Lives Matter protestors with a bladed glove before driving his car into them has been found guilty of attempted murder.
Frank Cavalluzzi, 57, was found guilty following a two-week jury trial and now faces up to 25 years in prison on each of the nine attempted murder counts, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz shared in a statement. According to The New York Times, Cavalluzzi will learn his fate in October.
“A dangerous man is going to jail,” Katz said. “It’s a good day for New York and the First Amendment.”

Cedar Glen, Calif. — A man shot and killed a 66-year-old business owner in front of her California clothing shop after he made "disparaging remarks" about an LGBTQ+ Pride flag that stood outside her store, authorities said.
The man ran away from the store after the shooting Friday night but was later found and killed in a confrontation with officers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The agency said Laura Ann Carleton was pronounced dead at Mag.Pi, the store she owned and operated in Cedar Glen, roughly 60 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
In a Monday afternoon news conference, San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus identified the suspect as Travis Ikeguchi. The suspect, a 27-year-old resident of Cedar Glen, was shot and killed after fleeing the crime scene and then shooting at responding deputies, striking multiple patrol vehicles. He died at the scene despite life-saving attempts by deputies, Dicus said.

PHILADELPHIA – A man has died after police say he was carjacked and beaten by two suspects who pulled up on a dirt bike while he was sitting in his car in Northern Liberties.
It happened around 9:40 p.m. at North 3rd and Cambridge Streets.
Police say the victim, identified as 60-year-old Peter Chan, was sitting inside his parked Toyota Highlander when two masked suspects approached on a dirt bike.
