Broncos Release Russell Wilson

The Browns Board

  • The RW trade wasn't really the killer, it was Denver giving him a crazy contract extension before he ever took a snap for them, 5 years $245 million.

It's amazing that TWO teams (Seattle, $26 million, Denver $85 million) are paying him to NOT be their QB, kicking him off the roster.

He must be some kind of locker room headache, wow.

PS- hopefully the Browns don't have to do something like this in the 2024/25 off season with DW.

If anyone is looking for a guy to not play QB, I'll gladly offer my services and for a fraction of the price.

Like @bob806 they gave him a 5 year $245 million extension, and cut him before he played a single game...

Measurably the worst contract and dead cap in NFL history! Wow, just wow!

It is the universal symbol of: "I know you are right, and I do not have a single counter." Bless him.

  • Guess he is a giant POS.  Even his wife demands all kinds of stuff from the club.  The other players and coaches cant stand his primadonna attitude.  Locker room cancer.....avoid at all costs.

see thats weird , I only heard good things about him in Seattle

  • he is visiting pittsburgh today

  • If we are on the subject of once great QB's that have won the Super Bowl, why does it seem people think that Flacco can't be a starter anymore? Didn't Flacco just turn 39? Didn't Brady not only start but win a SB well in his 40's? I know Joe Flacco isn't Tom Brady but all I heard was how well Joe Flacco kept himself in shape and how he has personal trainers.

The biggest difference between Brady and Flacco isn't their physical shape.  Not now, not ever.    Joe had always made questionable decisions and, as most Browns fans forgot until the Houston game, he will continue to do so.

Flacco had a great run (with some help) once. That does not make him a great QB.

  • That would be great news if Wilson signed with the Steelers. He's completely washed up. He benefited from playing with a top 5 all-time defense and the best running back in the league at the time in Marshawn Lynch when he was in Seattle. If he signs with the Steelers that's an easy two W's for us next year.

Did you just type "easy two W's" ....

Nothing's ever easy regarding the Browns vs Steelers unfortunately....

In fairness, this was a very good QB before this injury to his throwing hand.  I watched highlights of his passes before this with consistent tight accurate spirals.  After it, it looked like about 60% of his throws were wobbly.  Of course his game against the Browns felt like an exception to that rule especially with Denzel Ward out of our line-up.

  • I hope the Steelers stick with Pickett for a nice, long run.

Unfortunately, their ownership hasn't allowed them to since the onset of the 70s. Bradshaw was still getting benched in his 5th season for Joe Gilliam and Terry Hanratty. Not many ownerships would have been that patient (per Bradshaw's stats below). In our rivalry with Pittsburgh - it's safe to say patience beat knee jerk more than we wanted it to.
