Yes I can see that .... or any of those FA RBs plus a returning Chubb for a solid 1-2 punch again.

I'd consider adding another mid-round RB via the draft.

The last thing the Browns need is to spend FA money on a RB with a million miles on his tires, especially considering how much of the DLine are free agents now.

The big variable here is when does Nick Chubb return. You know that MAN is working his ass off to get back as soon as possible.

Those names above are obvious good choices, but with our salary cap situation I'm not sure we can do any of them unless they come here on a team friendly deal.

If Chubb misses time, we need someone who can run between the tackles for an entire game. Ford isn't a bruiser, Hunt was good in short-down situations but isn't a workhorse anymore. A few free agent RB's fitting this mold come to mind:

Gus Edwards - he's a 238lb monster and is a north-south runner like Chubb and can steamroll, not a pass catcher but we won't need him to.

D'Onta Foreman - 235lbs bowling ball, north-south runner, also can't pass catch like Edwards.

Of course I'd take any of the above five RB's over these guys, but there's really no sexy options we can afford. Plus, it depends on Chubb, is he coming back Week 3 or Week 14? Chubb's estimated return will dictate how badly we need to spend here.

Who's paying RB3's FA pricing? I'd consider pricing FA Colts RB Zack Moss, before handing the keys to Ford again in early schedule. While avoiding paying top 5 FA RB pricing altogether..

Really have no choice of being a RB fan of a local Southern Durham,NC high school kid Tennessee's RB Jaylen Wright. ?

Jaylen Wright was a 3 star promising RB, that missed out playing his senior high school year due to covid cancelling his senior season

If this RB stud is not taken by round 2? Jaylen Wright may become the biggest sleeper of this draft class..

great family attitude stud, that may run to Derrick Henry high at times, but willing to run downhill w/ good thumper speed

We have little to no chance of getting Zack Moss, he's looking for a big payday and we can't afford it.

Drafting an RB might be what we do if we can't get a rental for cheap. We just need an adequate filler until Chubb gets back.

I feel like we dodged a bullet multiple times with Lamar and JK Dobbins, but JKD could never stay healthy.

If Henry still has tread on his tires, it could be interesting.

Henry is a big, rugged guy. He still has speed. Probably the best punisher since Alstott was ramrodding through the league. I don't look forward to seeing him twice a year.
