NFL Officially bans hip drop tackle

Like I care what you think anyhow.

Thats what you always said to your mom too, and now look at you.

This ban seems really stupid.

I think the rules for player safety are merely to protect the leagues/owners investments.

They're not doing this for safety or more points.

[Ibleedbrown]

I don’t fully understand the nuances on this one quite yet. I get the concern for player safety, but there’s always an underlying irony to this sort of stuff.

The job of something like 90% of a football team is to manhandle other dudes. And after something like 100 years of this game they’re realizing that certain manhandling is worse than other manhandling.

It’s essentially micromanaging manhandling.

There are 2 songs on “Nevermind” where the drums kick off with a heavy snare roll, Territorial Pissings, and Breed is the other. Those are the barnburners on that album.

Ya know those padded bonnets for the helmets that some of the players use in practice and/or scrimmages.  Some day those will be mandatory.

Kind of reminds me of some football video game my kid had when he was young.   You could make the player have this huge head...lol....some of you probably remember...I don't remember the name of the game anymore.

My son had one of those games.  It was 2 on 2 basketball.  Big heads.  I laughed so hard playing that game with him.
