I don't see how it makes any sense other than Cooper going their way +high pick. On top of that they have to be ready and able to make him a top 5 paid guy at the position, which I wouldn't disagree he deserves. It's an interest proposition to at face value lock in your number 1 WR for 4 ish more years as opposed to essentially 1 more now with Amari.

At face value though it feels like the Patriots make the most sense. They could offer Kendrick Bourne (who paid in SF for years), a high pick, and have significantly more money to appease the contract. Cooper is of course a better player but I wouldn't doubt if the Pats even went as far to make Aiyuk the highest paid overall.

Reports are saying Aiyuk doesn't want to play for the Browns. Well fuck him. He can see what it's like catching wounded ducks and hospital balls from Russ and Fields all year. Aiyuk sounds like an Odell-type locker room cancer at this point, while Cooper is a total professional and no drama.

Also, if it's true that the 49'ers are asking for two first rounders, then fuck that. Even if it's a first rounder + Cooper, I wouldn't do that. Cooper has at least two more prime years in him. At least we're running up the price on the Steelers. Aiyuk is a good receiver but he's no Tyreke Hill, CeeDee Lamb, or Justin Jefferson.

I don't know man. I think it comes down to a business decision. I can't blame a person for making the decision they feel is best for them. You are a car guy. If you worked in the industy, no matter if you're are a Chevy guy, if Ford looked to be the best situation, you would probably go work for them.

You are, of course, correct.

Whereas if I were our GM, I'd say, "Yes, they're a great organization over there. But I think we've got a great organization in place here, with great players and coaches, etc., etc."
