Getting off to an early start in the   Cleveland BROWNS  Week 1   and  4:25 pm game.

    ▪︎----------▪︎

For the  second  consecutive season, the Browns will kick off their season at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

This year, they will face an NFC East opponent who they have not played against since 2020. The Browns will host the Dallas Cowboys on  Sept. 8  at 4:25 pm  ET, and the game will air on  FOX.

Single-game tickets for the home opener are available now.

"It's exciting to be able to open the season at home," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "Last year's home opener was electric, and we expect the same atmosphere. We feed off our fans' energy and I am sure there will be a little extra juice from them with this being the first one of the 2024 season. The Cowboys are the defending NFC East champs, so it will be a great challenge and we are looking forward to it."

They traveled to Dallas in 2020 where they beat the Cowboys 49-38 in Week 4. The Browns last hosted the Cowboys in Cleveland in 2016, when they lost to Dallas 35-10. The Browns have played the Cowboys 32 times since 1960 in franchise history, including three postseason games in the 1960s. Cleveland leads the overall series 18-14.

While the Browns dealt with a plethora of injuries in the 2023 season to key players on both sides of the ball, they are poised to be healthier to start the 2024 season as both QB Deshaun Watson and RB Nick Chubb continue to rehab for their respective injuries. They also re-signed integral players to the Browns' defense to run it back with their league-leading defense from 2023.

The Cowboys finished the 2023 season at the top of the NFC East, winning the division for the first time since 2021 and the second time in three seasons. They ended the regular season with a 12-5 record but lost in the Wild Card round to the Packers. However, this offseason, the Cowboys made an important move as they brought back star RB Ezekiel Elliott after he spent the 2023 season with the Patriots.

The Browns may have a tough test to kick off the season, but one that could set the tone for  CLEVELAND  in  WEEK 1.

  • I believe this game will be Tom Brady's first game in the booth for FOX. We will see how Tom fares in his 38 million a year gig.

If the Browns do drop this one, they have a fairly easy schedule the next 4 games.

Tom Brady, as a broadcaster now, can't say who he thinks is going to win the game, but it sounds like he is leaning towards Dallas.

  • Predict the Browns' First Offensive Play, Tackle, and Touchdown

First play: handoff to Ford for a 72 yard t.d run

    first touchdown: see above

first tackle: A strip sack by myles which is picked up by JOK for are second td of the game

  • Where to watch on the local TVs?

Pretty much most of the nation will get to watch the big D slide in to the big C this Sunday for some hard hitting action. Exciting, yeah?

Except for some of you panhandlers. You’ll have to collectively lament your lack of basements and Browns football this weekend. Same goes for you greater DC area people, but at least you’re a couple years removed from your local football team being named “football team.”

Aside from those places, we’ll get Browns football from sea to shining sea this weekend.

  • ...and we won't have our starting LT protecting our QB who missed more than half the season last year, most of the previous season, and all of the season before that.  And basically, Tom Brady only knows us as being a pathetic football team, from his playing days.

I gotta admit l feel kinda honored that Tom Brady is starting his announcing career with the Browns.

I’m assuming he’ll be the color guy instead of the play by play guy? He’ll just chime in from time to time with his Tom Bradyness. I’m looking forward to it.

I'd wager it has more to do with Dallas than us.  But it would be REAL good if it would be us that wins the game.

The fact Tom Brady seems to be leaning towards the Cowboys, makes me lean towards the Browns more.

I still say Dallas wins a close game, but my heart is more with the Browns.

Hell with it, Browns 23 Dallas 20

Most of the cowpokes victories came against subpar teams last year they only had 3-4 quality wins last year ( Detroit gave the game away, stupid ass coach) you seem to forget or just want to ignore facts ( i choose the latter) that the Browns man to man coverage at home last year led the league. They have one good receiver in cee dee  and i see the cowboys ass over rated and The Browns Defense to make life horrible for dak.

  • and as if on cue, I just found this

and another thing mr football, the Browns were 8-1 at home the boys 4-5 on the road

  • Browns will sport their traditional brown home jerseys.

They will also be wearing their brown pants and white striped socks to round out their game day fit.

    - Really?!  For a summertime football game your going to dress them totally in dark brown?!   What does analytics say about that?!

I don't like the brown pants with no stripe(s) down the side.

I know fall officially starts on September 22nd, but fall really starts after Labor Day.

The leaves are changing, a crispness in the air. Get the brown unis out.

🙂  Accuweather 4PM Cleveland forecast 66 degrees, mostly sunny west wind at 15 mph.   Uniform color a non- factor.

FWIW, I don't like the all brown pants either, they usually lose wearing them.
