The Official Browns at Raiders Game Thread Sept 29th

We have all seen the script of the reality of this team from the past 20 years.
-bad teams don’t get the benefit of the doubt of close calls. I’d bet about $1 billion dollars that holding doesn’t get called on the chiefs, etc. I’ve always said I don’t think the game is rigged but refs look more closely at calls for bad teams. Last week the chiefs OL mauled the bengals before they called DPI to win the game. It’s not a coincidence.
-mistakes compound. Cooper directly resulted in an INT that led to points. Hopkins misses an extra point in a game where it could have easily gone to OT.
-bad play results in bad coaching decisions. I’m baffled at the decision to try to force an offside with 3 timeouts on a 4th and manageable. To lose a potential possession in that situation is just bad coaching.
-alignment issues this far into the season are inexcusable. The last drive was doomed because RBs were lined up wrong- it makes no sense.
the reality is these are all hallmarks of a bad team. They have lost two weeks in a row to teams who I’m guessing will have top 10 picks in the draft. That’s also without their best offensive AND defensive player. At least it makes it easier to miss a few games as the weather gets nicer here in south Florida.

I don't even want to think about the fact that today Mayfield balled out and Flacco came in to relieve Richardson and beat the undefeated Steelers. This is just sheer pain. 1-3.Yet... Here we are!

I actually picked the Raiders to win this: Two best players on Raiders offense and defense out? Certain Browns loss. This team is bad, offense is horrific, yet to score 20 points and maybe even reach 200 yds of offense. Defense has regressed and ST is also regressing. Not sure if I can trust the FO to pick a franchise QB next draft given how they whiffed on Watson.

And irony of ironies the FO FU of not retaining Flacco led to the injury to Richardson against Pittspuke today which led to Flacco leading the Colts to the 27-24 win. Get rid of the idiots in the FO. It's they who are responsible for this entire shitshow.

Watson did pretty well. Pass protection was an issue.
We can't run the ball.
Emerson could've played better.
Cooper had one bounce off of him causing an INT and had a long TD called back.
The missed XP took away the ability for a tying FG at the end.
This loss stings...but can't match the hurt of losing MJP....................

Amen to that Orion. I've had many a private conversation with him over the years. A quality human being with a real positive attitude towards what he had to deal with. So many hospitalizations the last several years I just lost count. I admired him greatly.?

If you blame Watson for this loss, you are just a Watson hater. That is fine. But it gets old fast.
The Browns have several issues. This was indeed a costly loss. It is what it is. On to Washington.
