    ♡  SUNDAY  9/22/24   7:10 pm .

Thanks  Tex,  I know you have been there with me for years now.

This is my   4th   hospital this year of  2024   and by far the   hardest   of all of them.

I've been in the hospital   every year  for the past.  11 years   now.    All similar hip & infection related.

    Thank you all.  ♥︎   mjp.

Thanks Cal,   ♡   I appreciate that.    mjp.

He had been through this so many times I don't think either of us realized this would be has last battle. It's still a real shock that he could not prevail just one more time. He's now joined the best in Gipper, Stan, Tour (Bruce) and probably other good Browns fans from here over the years. I'm sure they have welcomed Mike into his "new" brotherhood. Most likely with a beer and some tasty dish he had never tried before. R.I.P. Mike.?

Super nice guy... He'll be missed... I think in his honor we should rebrand the Food/Tailgate page after him like.. the MJP Tailgate page or something and keep the good recipes going in his honor...

I’m on board. I always got a little bit of a kick that we basically had a recipe sharing thread right here on the front page of a football forum under the guise of “tailgate food”, haha. It was kind of a visionary move honestly.

The MJP memorial GAMEDAY food thread.

Here’s a little reel on the crockpot french dip  sammiches we made yesterday.

My gf’s dad was a Navy cook in ‘nam. Apparently Agent Orange was used as an everyday pesticide.

My buddy’s late dad was infantry. Drafted, but l only recently learned he was drafted after graduating college, which meant he was made an officer.

He didn’t really talk about it much when l knew him.

Here’s a good Vietnamese noodle recipe.

You know you're in the presence of a real soldier when they are silent on their experiences... I have called out loudmouths in bars bragging about killings they have made and I know right off the bat they are a lying sack of shit...

You ever have a bagged salad fight? They’re kinda like pillow fights, except with bags of salad?

That shit hits harder. Especially if you got radishes in there.

Maybe in some cases. I’ve known a fair amount of Vietnam vets. My mom dated bikers in the 80s.

Some would talk about it, usually not favorably.  I spent a lot of time at biker bars as a pre-teen.

I will admit I sometimes put nuoc mam (anchovy fish sauce) on my rice. This one is made right where I sometimes stayed, Phan Thiet in Binh Thuan province in southernmost II Corps along the coast. I got used to using it on everything as I was an advisor to a Vietnamese Company commander and ate everything they ate, including dog. BTW DieHard is also a Vietnam Vet. One of the good guys here.
