Tale of the Tape - Browns @ Eagles

The Browns Board
44 13 1.5k
  • Six Browns have been ruled out for Sunday:

Nick Chubb,  Nyheim Hines,  Grant Delpit (2nd on the team in tackles),  Ethan Pocic (the OL hit again),  Ronnie Hickman,  James Hudson III.

There are 7 teams with just one win.  And none of them are playing one another.  So we'll have to lose just to keep pace.  (obviously I'm strategizing for 2025)

It definitely sounds like the Browns are in for a bad match up but I'm going to keep the faith.

As long as KS can find a way to keep the ball moving and buy DW some time.

Name the team that is a real good match up for the Browns?

Not to be negative, but I feel the Jags and Pats(worst teams in the NFL IMO) would not be underdogs vs. the Browns.

By the way; Browns and Panthers are 29 and 30 on my worst teams list.

Been a few years since the Browns and Packers have played(2021) Packers have won the last four. 14 of 21 all-time. We will see how the match-up goes next season. Always a fun game.

Again, not to be negative(my fav AFC team) but if you look at the Browns remaining games, 2-15 is not only possible, but probable.

A lot of real bad "match-ups" coming up. Philly just the latest. Unfortunately I see it getting ugly tomorrow. Doesn't help that Philly is healthy and the Browns are not.

I will let you know when I care what some irrelevant and clueless wannabe writer thinks. Nick Shook is as knowledgeable on the NFL and NFL QBs as a doorstop.

And I don't care about some useless process or what stats he uses to come up with his "index." Save that comment as well.

    Cleveland Browns · Year 8

    2024 stats: 5 games | 60.2 pct | 852 pass yds | 4.8 ypa | 5 pass TD | 3 INT | 131 rush yds | 1 rush TD | 5 fumbles

Head coach Kevin Stefanski’s decision to continue with Watson as the QB1 defies logic considering just how bad the Browns offense is with Watson at the controls. Five weeks of pressure have reduced Watson to a quarterback who pulls his eyes down to the rush as soon as he senses heat, ignoring open targets and panicking, often resulting in sacks. He's not fast enough anymore to escape the pocket consistently and doesn't seem interested in using his legs until he has no other options. He’s processing so slowly that there's no reason to believe he'll improve any time soon. The Browns' defense played well enough to give them a chance to compete early on against the Commanders, but with Watson running the offense, they were doomed. He's no longer a starting-caliber quarterback, and until the Browns decide to make a change, they're going to continue to struggle mightily. It's time to bench him, plain and simple.

I would bet a dollar to a donut that the offensive line would miraculously play much much better with someone else under center than Watson. I don't think Watson is respected by anyone on that team. He's a cancer that has infected the entire organization. And if not careful that new stadium might be in another city.

    So what happened?

We rushed for 100 yards.  Eagles = 116

We passed for 168 yards.  Eagles = 264

Neither team turned the ball over.

The Browns got only 1 sack.  The Eagles however came in with only 6 sacks for the year and got 5 sacks on us.  One time Wills blocked nobody...and the somebody on his side made the sack.  On one screen pass, Zinter blocked nobody...instead of somebody.  But we do have Zinter to thank for that FG towards the end of the game.  If it wasn't for his penalty, Stef was going to go for the TD...and we wouldn't have scored one.

I only saw from midway through the 3rd quarter on.  (Fall Ball Baseball for the 2 grandboys.  Last games of the season today.)

The numbers indicate that Watson didn't do terribly.  No Int's.  (higher completion pct. than Hurst)

Saw the highlight of Myles' leaping and blocking the FG.  Freakness!  But too many times his lust for getting a sack(s) takes him straight upfield leaving a big seam inside for the RB to run right through.

I did find this little write up quite entertaining!
