Almost like some global events happened in 2020 that impacted the world economy for years....

Go look at the UK for example, had the same steep rise. Did Biden cause the UK's inflation too?

But that little Covid “thang” in 2020 didn’t stop the Biden nut swingers to point out the economy went to shit during Trump’s last year in office. So no…the shitty economy during Dementia Joe’s first year is on him.

  • I don't know if this link will get past the NY Times paywall, but it's damn enlightening.  Here's Trump's support in a nutshell. Ohio is just a microcosm of the rest of the country....

It’s The NY Times, so I’m guessing it’s not a flattering article on the bad Orange man.

Oh, what, you think it's emotional to constantly call the party he doesn't like "Demonrats"?

Well that's just a crazy thing to think.....

So you voted for jill stein?

That woulda been me. Good ol’ Jill. I did her once before and l saw her there and it was sort of a warm familiar feeling and l just decided to do her again.

I tried like hell to talk myself into a relevant candidate. But l just couldn’t do it, and then l saw her name and l totally filled her box.

Nope, if you didn't bother to look- or the article was blocked....  It was a county by county breakdown of election results.. No bias, just straight reporting... Blue major Ohio cities in a sea of red...  Even had the percentages. Plenty of the rural counties were 70%+ for Trump.

  • @vaportrail said:

I would prefer they become a party I would consider voting for again, but that will require a lot of introspection. I expected that introspection to happen after 2016, but instead they just went full orange man bad. I am optimistic that they're past the point of diminishing returns for that strategy.

I wonder who they’re going going to demonize in 2028 since Trump won’t be eligible to run?

    Vance of course..

Trump, truly is a transitional President.

I'll say this again. I don't see Trump finishing his term. I see him getting shit straight in 2-3 yrs and then sailing off into a well deserved sunset... He can't run again and Vance unlike Harris will be taking notes and learning how to be the leader of the free world from day one.. Actually, he's already learning.

  • I think you guys covered most of it. It was pretty evident that the move to Kamala was a money move, because democrats were beholden to prior campaign contributions.

And they tried their best to envelope her in good vibes of democrat goodness and not expose her to the harsh realities of hard questions.

She never came off as genuine, and we rarely got to see her under pressure. And when we did it didn’t really go well.

I kinda think her anti-Christian vibes did a number on her too, especially her “you’re at the wrong rally” quip so close to the election.

  • Just ordered...

I am optimistic that those threats are as serious as the threat of him throwing Hillary in jail. But I agree with your concerns. He took a lot of money from Israeli-American dual citizen, Miriam Adelson, and I have no idea if her loyalties are more to the US or Israel.

The next four years really come down to how much of the insane shit he said during his campaigning is real and how much of it was just posturing.

Without any checks and balances, and with home probably not bringing in any folks to his administration that will stand up to him this time, I'm worried.

I mentioned his comments on Palestine protestors above because I'd knew you'd resonate with it the most, but that's just the top of the iceberg

He had a GOP House and Senate 2016-2018 who stopped him from repealing Obamacare. He's been overruled multiple times by the Supreme Court consisting of 3 of his appointees. Checks and balances, in fact, still exist.

And we've continued to move towards a Trump world since then. The GOP has slowly dissolved any spine they had to stand up to hin. They may still exist, but they'll be weakened for at least the next two years.

I can only hope Trump was just running his mouth for votes when it came to a lot of his rhetoric. Otherwise, we're going to have some pretty messed up stuff enacted that the Trump lovers here will find increasingly insane ways to justify.

He certainly impacted it. The peak of inflation coincides with the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Biden administration's decision to sanction Russia, cutting 12% of the global oil supply and 20% of the global fertilizer supply out of western markets.

And no other county implemented any sanctions on Russia?

The point on getting at is solely blaming Biden for the rapid increase in inflation after a global pandemic (and Russian war) is idiotic. As we see inflating rapidly coming down the last 6 months or so. Though I guarantee you we'll hear about how Trump fixed the economy and inflation when it is even lower in February next year. As if Trump did anything in one month of office.

And so continues the cycle of it being the other guy's fault if it's bad or your guy's credit if it's good. (Not you in particular, just in general)

  • Biden " What does Willie Brown and the 2024 election have in common? "

Biden " Camala Harris blew both of them " 😁

Liberals never take responsibility for anything, always a victim.

Weren’t they at the convention? Both sides invite celebs.

Aren’t we supposed to be talking about what went wrong with the Harris campaign?

These celebs appeared at Harris campaign rallies.

Well, since you asked...  Kamala's first big mistake- though not her only one- was asking "Tampon Tim" to run with her as VP candidate. Josh Shapiro would at least have gotten her Pennsylvania and made it a lot more interesting.

To paraphrase a bit from Bernie Moreno's mantra about Sherrod Brown...  "Walz, too liberal for America"...  Nah, I'm not blind FY- you look at the sea of Red in middle and southern USA- Conservative voters weren't buying what the Democrats were selling.  Look, I don't agree with the far, far left radical agenda about men in women's sports- or gee, if you're a man you can become a woman if you just whack off your pee-pee.  Sadly, my niece's "husband" is in the process of doing exactly that- though I'm not sure he'll go quite that far.

Regarding the economy- most folks don't realize, a lot of stuff that goes on there is outside of a president's control. Pining for "the good old days" under Trump.

What I really worry about FY is we just voted in a mental basket case that's rapidly descending into dementia. Deny that at your own risk. (confusing states, and WWII with WWIII)  Physical one too...  What I'd expect from an unathletic 78 year old man who needed a boost to get into the garbage truck.  In my book, riding around the course in a golf cart doesn't count as "exercise".

Eliminating the Dept of Education seems extreme, maybe that's just campaign talk but we shall see.

Why RIGHT ON!!!  Donnie LOVES the poorly educated.  ?  That might not be 1\2 as bad as putting his fellow nut case  anti science, anti vaxxer RFK JR. anywhere near the HSSA and CDC.

Adios Green New Deal too.  DJT doesn't want to realize the supply of oil in the ground isn't infinite...  Fortunately for him (and me) we'll be dead and gone when the supply runs out. A little advance planning there wouldn't hurt.

I actually think it's a back door ploy to kill the Teachers union(s). Time will tell.

I get the school choice arguments. With so many mandates for testing students, teacher's creativity has been handcuffed. In many areas, School funding is tied to test scores. It's an over reach by government....the intent is good but it's not truly improving anything in the long run.
