Here's a 3 Round Mock Draft from Pro Football Focus. The Browns three picks:

1st Round #8 Overall: OT Will Campbell LSU
2nd Round #40 Overall: RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State
3rd Round #72 Overall: QB Drew Allar, Penn State

  • Welp.. gonna need to draft a kicker

What the heck happened to Hopkins?!  He's turned into total $#!+

---  Nice that the Jags won...but we're still picking no worse than 8th.

  • 2025 Draft should be a Tackle, G/C and a bookend to Myles…the other Day 2 pick find an explosive toy RB/WR. Beyond that hammer the front 7 and Oline with the remainder of the picks.  That first round pick has to be a great edge player or an offensive tackle.

Please no Allar there were multiple occasions Saturday where is footwork was just horrendous.  And I get Jay Cutler vibes from Carson Beck. If Garrett Nussmeier fell considerably he might be worth a look.

You retain Winston for next year he’s not a bad locker room guy…he’s probably a 5/6 win ceiling guy and he will stay healthy. This makes us competitive enough so the fan base can pull through but we still have a top 10 pick in 2026 where QB is a must.

2026 you draft your QB and his go to WR and TE.  Bring in a good WR via trade or free agency to stabilize the WR room and give the new QB someone to work with.

  •  Allar can be incredibly tough to watch at times.  He's wildly inconsistent and gets sloppy with his mechanics and decision making under pressure.  I'd be fine if he was a late day 2 pick.  Doubt he goes first round. But he has elite physical measurables, so 2nd *possibly* third is most likely.

Kid really needs a lot of development.

  • Remaining Schedule:  This is based on today, 12-9-24.  What we need is based on us losing out.

Browns  -  Chiefs, Bengals, Dolphins, Ravens  What we need:  Obviously, lose all 4.  Problem, they're all winnable.  Yup, even the Chiefs (let down week) and Ravens (final game of season and may rest key players)

Raiders  -  Falcons, Jaguars, Saints, Chargers  What we need:  2 wins.  (at least 1 win)  3 of the games are winnable...except Carr got hurt Sunday.

Patriots  -  Cardinals, Bills, Chargers, Bills  What we need:  1 win.  Cardinals look like the only hope.

Titans  -  Bengals, Colts, Jaguars, Texans  What we need:  1 win.

Jaguars  -  Jets, Raiders, Titans, Colts  What we need:  Beat the Colts and lose to everyone else.

Jets  -  Jaguars, Rams, Bills, Dolphins  What we need:  1 win

Giants  -  Ravens, Falcons, Colts, Eagles  What we need:  2 wins.  (at least 1 win)  -  we're screwed.

Panthers  -  Cowboys, Cardinals, Bucs, Falcons  What we need:  1 win

Looks to me like the Giants & Raiders will be picking 1st and 2nd.  The Jaguars are key to us.  They could possibly put 4 teams behind us in the draft order.

I'd definitely be intrigued if he was sitting there at the top of the third. He's still a work in progress, but there's some upside with him if you can get him in a good situation and don't have to rush him.

    Same thing with Beck.

I still contend that you don't need a top-notch first round prospect to succeed in Stefanski's offense.

  • Once the combine is over, Aller will be a first rounder. He is the prototype size. Some team will drool over his measurements and think they can fix the rest. Hopefully it’s not the Browns.

Reasonable, which means it won't happen?

I'm in agreement on the Allar posts. Definitely has skills but not ready, & I'm not sure Cle can develop him based on our difficulties

The Browns are probably a lock to be a top 10 team, so I can't imagine they'd be the team to pull the trigger on him, but you could be right. The list of quarterbacks drafted waaaaaaaaaaay too high is a long one.

  • Allar needs a year to sit and learn in the NFL - but the Browns don't have a qb to teach him.

Interesting - this article says the Jets want him in the draft. I had him in my stupid mock draft because I saw huge, huge potential.

"He's thrown for 5,800 yards with 50 passing touchdowns and just nine interceptions. "

That is pretty good decision making - but it will have to improve in the NFL. Most if not all qb's have to adapt to the NFL, the big question is, do they have the smarts to make it happen and be a terrific qb in the pros. Penn State wr's had a tough time getting open at times.

    Scouting Report: Strengths
    • Prototypical NFL frame at 6'5", 243 pounds with the bulk to withstand Sunday punishment
    • Big-time arm talent allows him to push the pill to all three levels with juice
    • Possesses a quick trigger, can get the rock out in a hurry when needed
    • Quick release, can get the ball out rapidly when under pressure
    • Good pre-snap recognition, can read defenses and adjust protections at the line
    • Shows anticipation on timing routes, especially against zone coverage
    • Demonstrates pocket presence, willing to step up and allow routes to develop
    • Flashes anticipatory throws, particularly against zone coverage on sit routes
    • Willing to stand tall in the pocket and deliver strikes while taking hits
    • Adequate mobility to extend plays and pick up chunk yardage on designed runs

    Scouting Report: Weaknesses

    • Ball placement can be erratic, especially on deep shots where touch is required
    • Needs to speed up processing time and work through progressions more efficiently
    • Footwork can get sloppy under duress, leading to off-platform throws and accuracy issues
    • Must improve pre-snap reads and post-snap defensive recognition
    • Can be late pulling the trigger on tight-window throws, allowing defenders to close
    Scouting Report: Summary

Allar's physical tools and arm talent make him an intriguing prospect for vertical passing attacks. His size and pocket presence project well to offenses that emphasize downfield shots off play-action. The improvements in his short and intermediate accuracy in 2024 suggest potential in timing-based systems as well.

Despite his impressive physical attributes, Allar's inconsistent mechanics and decision-making indicate he may benefit from a redshirt year in the NFL. His development trajectory suggests he could thrive in a system that allows him to sit behind a veteran quarterback while refining his footwork and mental processing.

While Allar has shown flashes of brilliance, particularly in the 2024 season, his overall body of work indicates room for growth. His ability to make off-platform throws and extend plays will appeal to creative offensive coordinators.

  • Allar's top wr on the list of draftees -

is #34 on the list. Pretty terrific numbers for not having top wr's in college.

But, I'm biased, he's my stupid mock draft pick, so.....

I'm not a fan of Allar's foot work... He almost always throws off the wrong foot or is unbalanced... If we get him in the late 2nd or early 3rd.. ok Take a gamble.. But I don't see him as a first rnd pick.. If he proves me wrong then great... I'll never say never.. But much like Fields.. I see him doing things he won't get away with in the NFL...

  • Unfortunately we are in a year with only one 1st round worthy QB. Hopefully no one ahead of us needs one.

Who is the one first rounder? Sanders? Ward?

    Sanders.

Wards throwing motion scares the shit out of me.

Very sloppy. Wind up motion, questionable footwork.

Yep. Sanders is the only one any team should take as a 1st rounder.

You aren't wrong - he may stay in college one more year, then watch him go too high for the Browns. He would not be ready for his first year, but with some pro coaching and experience here and there - I love his upside, like I loved Josh Allen's upside back then.

    .....Allen.....Allar.....hmm.

    https://nittanycentral.com/penn-state-football-news-drew-allar-nick-singleton-nfl-draft-predictions/

    "

Drew Allar ranks 5th nationally in passing efficiency and leads the nation in deep-ball accuracy with a 63% completion rate on throws over 15 yards.

Averaging 216 yards per game and boasting an 8:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio, he’s 6th in overall QBR (87.5).While he’s an elite talent, another season could elevate him from a second or third-round pick to a top-5 draft selection. How he handles Ohio State and possible playoff games will be crucial."
