The first transfer portal is open for business, and Ohio State has added four potential starters:
TE Max Klare from Purdue, the #1 TE in the portal and possibly the best returning TE in college football. From Cincinnati.
RB CJ Donaldson from West Virginia, who has run for over 2000 yards in this three seasons with the Mountaineers, and 30 touchdowns. In a RB room that next year looked to be made up entirely of first and second year 200lbish guys, he gives the room experience and size (6'2, 238lbs).
OT Phillip Daniels from Minnesota. A guy Ohio State looked at coming out of high school, they made up for not offering him originally by getting him now.
DE Logan George from Idaho State. Played at the FCS level, but had quite a few Power 5 teams interested.
Klare, Donaldson and George all happened today on the holy day of Festivus.
-
Ohio State has potentially added another starting tackle with the addition today of Ethan Onianwa from Rice.
He's a three year starter, last year being his best season so far, playing Left Tackle for the Owls.
With four of the five OLine starters leaving after this season, this was needed get.

Siding with MSU may be the funniest thing you could have possibly done.
But OSU is definitely giving off a lot of little brother vibes recently, so I guess it fits.

That was one of the biggest wins in Ohio State football history, against a program that is going to be a problem for years. Oregon went undefeated and won the Big Ten in its first year in the league, and continues to be a thorn in the side of Ohio State in recruiting as well. The Ducks have a billionaire alumni in Phil Knight that is going to continue to pour money into their program so he can see a national championship before he dies. It was all set up to happen this season. The Ducks had all the momentum.
There obviously needs to be some tinkering on how teams are seeded, but I keep hearing how it wasn't fair to Oregon to get a first week bye only to have to play Ohio State in Round 2. The thing is, Ohio State lost two games this season and ended up third in the Big Ten... how high should they have been seeded? I guess Oregon suffered from Ohio State collectively having their heads up their asses against a pretty piss-poor TTUN team, running the most idiotic game plan any of us have ever seen. "Oh, TTUN has ONE strength? Their defensive tackles? Oh, lets just go one-on-one with them and try to run between the tackles all game then!" ? Win the last game of the season, Ohio State isn't a 8 seed.
I just wish we could bottle College Playoff Ryan Day... ? THAT guy is a bad ass.

? Here's a surprise - me too! That said, all the talk that they're the team to beat now coming off the big win could set them up for a let down like we witnessed just 3 weeks ago. They're winning because they're pissed and turbo focused; so I hope they remain on the mission. All it takes is showing up to 1 of these games satisfied with what they just accomplished and it could be all over with a bad quarter or 2 - just ask previously unbeaten Oregon. Not saying that is going to happen but it could happen easier than people think if they replace the hunger with satisfaction.
-
I have to say, the Buckeyes look clearly like the team to beat with the way they've played the last 2 games.

I thought that was honestly shocking, and I worried that Oregon was going to take that info and have a boulder sized chip on their shoulder.
Didn't matter. Ohio State annihilated them.

It looked like Oregon was a high school team. I guess the d-line took it personal with no sacks the first game.
