We lose next week and we are no worse than 4.
We lose next week and we are no worse than 4.
Assuming NE and Tenn lose I believe if we lose it is 3. The Giants have the Eagles if/when they lose the Eagles record is better than the Ravens so their SOS will be higher than our SOS.

It won't work out Bob lol
Hasn’t in my 54 years

One game left:
Browns - Ravens What we need: Obviously, to lose this game.
Patriots - Bills What we need: The Patriots to win. Unfortunately, the Bills are chasing a high scoring streak / record.
Titans - Texans What we need: The Titans to win.
Giants - Eagles What we need: The Giants to win.
At this point I'm not guessing at what the SOS will be after all of the games have been played. But even from where we are, if the Patriots secure the #1 spot, we are within range to trade up to the top to pick the QB. I'm not suggesting that we should. Or even could (politics being what they might be). I'm just saying that we are in the ball park. - And I'd have to assume that the Patriots would certainly be soliciting offers.

Giants will stay behind us if we both lose. Their SOS will go up next week playing the Eagles.
the best bargaining chip we have is staying ahead of them in the draft order.
we could screw it all up by going from 3 to 7 or 8 by winning

Well we could start Watson or DTR. Either way the offense will get less than 10 points

No way Deion lets his son play for our joke of an organization
Colorado was down 21-0 at half yesterday.
I'm not so sure this guy is what people think.

I say this as someone who feels Sanders is worthy of #1 overall - I took BYU to cover. Colorado has one of the worst Olines in the power 5.
I felt sorry for him, the trenches were owned by BYU bigtime.
Teamwise, it was a bad matchup. It happens.
Yeah I like the size of him, sure seems durable, an AFC North type guy.
I admit, I'm "fan scared," I just don't trust the FO here to make a QB pick

Deion's NFL Draft Post ?️
Unrelated to the Browns, it would not surprise me if Shilo had the best NFL career of the three. He seems to have the biggest edge/chip on his shoulder and the biggest ceiling.

IMO we need to get to the #1 overall spot.....by hook or by crook.
The Bills will beat the Patriots even if they play all of their practice squad players. So they'll have the #1. They need a pass rusher like nobody's business. And offensive line / WR help. They should / will be auctioning off that #1 pick for multiple picks.
The Titans have Mason Rudolph. They're going to want a QB. (they play the Texans. I'm assuming that they can't improve their playoff position so perhaps they'll rest some starters ??) The Giants and Raiders will want a QB. There's plenty of teams positioned towards the top of the draft that will be attempting to get into position to take one.
From what I've been reading and seeing, we would want Sanders. And he's going to go #1 overall, therefore.....
edit and add: If Jimmuh cans the HC & GM, the new guys are going to want their own QB.

He's best of a really bad QB class?
Even if it isn't the greatest class; recent history reminds us a very efficient QB like Brock Purdy was the very last pick of his draft class. There may not be a guy immediately ready to start (Tom Brady wore blue jeans to games most of his rookie year and didn't emerge until Bledsoe got hurt in Brady's 2nd season). I'm gonna put myself out there agreeing with your pov about this QB draft class. The guy I want is Kyle McCord - but we might have to reach into a middle round (3 or 4) to draft this late round projection. Again, you don't want to draft a prospect that has already played his best football (ie: Josh Allen there wasn't anything special about his record or his stats in college IMO). The Bills did a great job developing him and staying the course during early growing pains. They were healthy consumers that knew what he needed from them to succeed.
This is what it is. Crablegs is a waste of time even though he gave us some fun moments leading the Browns to victories over Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I thought it was pretty crack-pipe the FO let Flacco go because they wanted to give Watson's ego a REAL GOOD massage. Watson was a 3 time Pro Bowl QB and led Houston to the playoffs twice before the Cleveland Browns got their hands on him.
I know people ONLY want to hold Kyle McCord to his 1st year as a starter at Ohio State impression with that horrible 11-1 record that challenged a much better Michigan team than the Buckeyes faced this year. That said, if you can lead Syracuse to 10 wins with far less surrounding talent than Ohio State - there's something happening here... Don't believe me - read what the 1st year HC at Syracuse had to say about. Anyway, here's what Google tells me:
Former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord put on a show in Friday night's 52-35 Holiday Bowl win over Washington State. The former Buckeye threw for 453 yards and five touchdowns in the Syracuse victory.
But McCord did something even more noteworthy in the game. He now stands atop the ACC with the most single-season passing yards and completions in conference history. McCord passed Clemson's Deshaun Watson, who passed for 4,593 yards on 388 completions in 2016. By the end of the Holiday Bowl, McCord finished his season in Orange with 4,779 yards on 391 completions, landing him on the top of the ACC passing list.
It should also be noted that Watson's record came in 15 games played, whereas McCord broke the record in just 13 games. In those 13 games, McCord surpassed 300 yards in all but one contest.

After further review, Tyler Warren has gotten so much attention, he's a first round draft pick. If the Browns were smart, (they are not), they would trade down a bit, get some extra picks for next year, and draft Tyler Warren, TE. Edge rushers, dline guys are there every year. But Tyler Warren will be a star on any team he goes to. Sign a good veteran qb for a year - and draft Allar in 2026 maybe.
But Tyler Warren is my pick for the Browns this next draft. This year alone, Warren has 98 receptions for 1,158 yards, 8 Touchdowns, 11.8 ave. He is formerly a hs qb, and this year, he completed 3 or 6 passes for Penn St. And he has RUSHED 24 times for 197 yards, 8.2 yards avg., 4 more TDs.
#4, lol.

I'm sure he's going to be lost on this board after cal posts 163 times about Tyler Warren in the next three months, but the Big Ten has another first round tight end in the coming draft. Here's highlights from his 2023 season, since his '24 was somewhat 'meh' because TTUN's passing attack was roughly at a middle school level.

Warren was a Monster in that Bowl Game last night! If he plays like that all the time - I'd hate to see him drafted by one of our opponents' in the AFC North! But, if the dream at QB isn't there where we pick - I'm hoping the best LT in the draft is there...
I'm worried we're going to overrate a QB in the limited supply of 1st round prospects for a big demand. That's why I'm looking for a mid round QB to develop. Unfortunately, all of this counts on a FO I have very few reasons to trust in the draft.

Warren is an excellent player and I'd love to have him, I just don't think the Browns are going to trade down all the way into the teens and take him. I like him more than Loveland, but he's an excellent TE too. Ohio State just got them a great TE prospect in the transfer portal from Purdue - he could be a high pick next draft.
The Browns could take a QB if they end up with a top 3 pick - when a team is paying one QB a ton of money the easy way to save on the position is to draft one.
Another guy to watch in this Texas/Arizona State game is LT Kelvin Banks Jr, a first round prospect. Might be able to drop down a little and grab him.
Speaking of bowl games, just announced that the Georgia/Notre Dame game tonight has been postponed due to the truck attack on Bourbon Street that left ten dead.

Agreed! Man, I couldn't believe waking up to that news about 10 murdered and 35 injured. These are crazy times...

I really wouldn't be upset with the Browns adding another Ohio State DTackle in the upcoming draft to go with Mike Hall in either Tyleik Williams or Ty Hamilton.
