Crazy how the top 3 coaches with the longest playoff losing streaks are/were AFCN coaches.

Marty racked up his streak after leaving for KC, although the streak may have began after losing the Conference championship in 87 and the WC game in 88 before Modell gave him his walking papers. I’m not sure.

Tomlin is an incredible coach. He really should get COTY for bringing that team to the playoffs every year without anything resembling an offense. Unfortunately for the Steelers, they're stuck in limbo because he's so good, and never have a shot at the top QB prospects. They'll need another late first Roethlisberger to get themselves out of it.

He’s incredible to everyone  outside of Pittsburgh. Their idiot fans want him fired in the worst way.

In limbo for sure. My theory is the they are in limbo because they always draft in the middle to the bottom of the pack, ending up with average players, “coached up” by a way above average coach, resulting in above average seasons, resulting in making a playoff appearance with a team that isn’t good enough when it comes to competing against the powerhouses.

I guess I’d rather see them stuck in perpetual limbo rather than be winning Super Bowls.

    Yep, hell with 'em.

Regarding the Steelers drafting mid or late in the drafts, they did it in the 70s with no I'll effects, suffered a bit into the 80s, then turned it around in the 90s/2000s with Cowher.

Tomlin & his GM aren't aren't blameless. We know first hand the woes of drafting poorly.

Tomlin's weakness seems to be he doesn't want to be upstaged by a competent offensive coordinator. As much as I despised Big Ben, it seems from afar he was the guy that made Tomlin look good.
