I'm surprised Chiefs DC Steve Spagnola wasn't even considered for a lot of HC openings. I haven't seen 1 defense stop Josh Allen in the types of short yardages the Chiefs stopped him with more than once yesterday.
This guy was the DC for the Giants that beat the undefeated NE Patriots in the Super Bowl back in January 2008. The only chance he had to be a HC was when he inherited a dumpster fire in New Orleans. Maybe that kind of thing prevented him from wanting another headache like that.
He just turned 65 a month ago, that might have something to do with him not getting a head coach offer. His stint as HC with the Rams didn’t appear to go well, as the first and third (last) seasons they went a combined 3-29… and that was way back in 2009-11. You wonder sometimes too if certain coordinators like just focusing on their specialty and don’t want the stress of running the whole show?

Definitely! That's very true about certain Coordinators preferring to just specialize on their side of the ball than taking on the bigger headache. To your point, Norv Turner was a much better Offensive Coordinator than HC; and the same thing could be said for Lindy Infante.
It seems like Stefanski still prefers being an OC to the HC gig - but I could be wrong about that.

There was a lot of talk last offseason of why Chip Kelly resigned from being a head coach at UCLA to become Ohio State’s OC… the consensus was that he hated all the money raising for NIL and the other stuff head coaches in college have to do, so he took the OC gig so he could actually coach.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs.
The Commanders Cinderella season ended with a thud today in Philadelphia, and Buffalo's season ended vs Kansas City for the fourth time in the last five seasons, as once again Josh Allen and the Bills couldn't pull it out vs the Chiefs.
Chiefs going for a Super Bowl three-peat.

So yippee!! We get the Super Bore. Unless you're a fan of the Chiefs or Eagles, most NFL fans could care less. Lions - Bills would have been interesting.

It's why a lot of the top college schools have hired General Managers. Too much on a Head coach's plate. FWIW, the money top programs are spending now is insane. Like Ohio State's DC jumping to Penn State for $3 million a year? Wasn't that long ago, that was Head Coach money. ?

Oh, I was hoping for Buffalo to get to the Super Bowl.
ah, nope.
Chiefs kept covering Bills wr,s and rushing Allen like crazy, ...
and the Bills' secondary was inept, especially when #5 had to come in.
Still, very close game.
Now I have to root for the Eagles.
And, the Bills went to the power 4th and 1 way too many times.
The play-calling helped the chiefs a lot.

I agree. I don't like either team.
The refs are worth 6 points a game to the Chiefs. They add 3 to the Chiefs score and take away 3 from whoever they are playing.

I like KC but I don't want them setting records the Browns may not reach.
I know, we'll be lucky to see them in the super bowl let alone win but still.
I really don't like the Eagles, the only time I liked them was when McNabb was QB.
I hope Eagles win but I really don't care, I'll just enjoy the game for what it is.

Part of me wants to like Philly on this.
I saw the success the Bills had running on KC then working the vertically passing game off of it. That's very possible for the Iggles to setup.
Mostly what I like is PHI defensively. KC got the party started by taking advantage of aggressive 2nd level Bills defenders. BUF hasn't been good against the run so their backers trigger quick to fill. That opened up the back/weak RPO glance KC hit Brown on several times over the first half. It punished and slowed the downhill LB trigger. That's when Hunt and Pacheco got moving.
The Birds have a nasty defensive interior they didn't have last time, where their LBs can slow play those RPO looks because the beef they have clogs lanes. They don't have to be as aggressive as Buffalo, giving up those 2nd level passing windows so easily. Their defense can play lighter box counts, be a bit more patient on defense and truly force the Chiefs to do everything they can to nickel and dime up and down the field sustaining long drives. Also helps to choke off RedZone production.
Provided Philly also avoids dumb turnovers, I'm coming around on them.

Okay where is everyone at on predictions?
My head says the Eagles, I think they get enough control of both lines of scrimmages. I like their playmakers too.
My concern is Mahomes, Reid and Spagnulo. Maybe enough advantage there to overcome the above?
Then you have Hurts what happens if he takes a head shot like he did earlier this year.
I like the Saquon under 21.5 carries prop.

Myles Garrett on ESPN live after this commercial break.

I'll take Philly with the points. I like the better RB in this one and the Philly D plus tush push.

Brief and not as detailed as my previous work. But a quick write up on the biggest difference between these two teams - how Philly (the defensive front) matches up with KC.

I can’t call the winner of this game but have bet Noah Gray to score first TD for some fun
-
Almost the EXACT same play structure and call they opened up against Buffalo with.
