Myles Garrett Requests Trade
-
My guess is, Garrett has put feelers out to the Browns, and only started talking to the media when they were a brick wall.
The watson deal was a failure as soon as they did it.
Some bought into the "chance" to go to the superbowl after all.
But it wasn't to be. Some of us KNEW it.
Anyways, Garrett has been outstanding, this FO, owner and hc are NOT.
Trade him since he wants out, Garrett's given up on the Browns is a justified
decision on his part.
The Deshaun Watson trade continues to leave collateral damage in its wake for the Cleveland Browns

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns fans, what we have here is a war of words.
At the Senior Bowl last week, Browns GM Andrew Berry said he wouldn’t trade Myles Garrett – not even for a pair of first-round picks.
Berry also said this about his star defensive end at his postseason press conference: “My anticipation, expectation is that he’ll have a direct ticket from Cleveland to Canton at the end of his years and expect him to be here and retire a Brown, quite frankly.”
Canton is a reference to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Well, Garrett said this as part of his written request to be traded:
“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent … The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.
“With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”
There you have it … a problem.
Browns can keep Garrett
Do the Browns have to trade Garrett? No.
In fact, I’m hearing the Browns are standing behind what Berry has been saying for quite a while – they intend to keep Garrett.
Can that change? Of course.
But the Browns have the NFL’s premier defensive player, at least in their opinion. He’s 29 and in the prime of his career.
I checked my sources again today. They want Garrett with the team long term, and they are working to make that happen.

Seems to me it would be more satisfying helping a team get to a SB than being traded to a team already built to go... almost like a participation trophy.
They could keep him for 5 more years if they wanted to.
You mean kinda like how Joe Thomas got to the SB? ..............................................................oh wait!?

...yeah, everything is fair game now. The pedestal that Joe Thomas sits on just keeps getting higher.
I've never seen a FO in Cleveland given more tenure for less. You know, one that wouldn't even be capable of drafting a Myles Garrett, Joel Bitonio, Denzel Ward, Nick Chubb, David Njoku or finding an untapped vet like Wyatt Teller that has frequented Pro Bowls. That guy (John Dorsey) got fired for the Office Depodesta spreadsheets; so he could go to the Detroit Lions and put them in position to frequent the playoffs. Meanwhile, the only Pro Bowl caliber guy Berry has drafted has been JOK whose career may already be over.
All this stuff we continue to go through; and the Worst Owner in the NFL isn't even considering terminating either. So now we have to count on the 2 of them to re-build a team they still can't find the right QB for in what has been perceived to be a weak QB draft. Look what they've settled on at LT for any/all of the victims trying to play QB here.
But the Dumb Ass writing all of this to you is still here in spite of it all hoping the blind squirrels at the top of this franchise can find a magic nut or 2 or 3...

I can't say I blame him but requesting a trade and getting one are two different things. He's got two years oh his contract and they could franchise him another two years if they want to play hardball or wait until the cap hit is less significant.

Any trade of Myles Garrett should include the other team taking Jimmy Haslam and DePodesta as part of the deal.

I wish we could trade Myles to our 86 team that was only missing an edge rusher.
If I ever find out who the knucklehead was that threw batteries at Elway - he's in deep shit. HE MISSED!

Someone should put it to Myles that way. Maybe he’ll have a change of heart. LOL
Im sure Myles already feels like he’s only participating, playing for a team every Sunday that he feels has no chance of going anywhere.

Good organizations look out for their players.
The Haslams, not so. If I was Jimmy Haslam, I'd be on the phone with the League Office every Monday morning, footage in hand, wondering why opposing players, as it relates to playing against Myles Garrett, are allowed to:
"...use hands or arms to materially restrict an opponent or alter the defender’s path or angle of pursuit. It is a foul regardless of whether the blocker’s hands are inside or outside the frame of the defender’s body. Material restrictions include but are not limited to: grabbing or tackling an opponent; hooking, jerking, twisting, or turning him; or pulling him to the ground."
Love some of these owners and coaches or hate them, but there are teams spearheading rules changes every year that benefit their players and their coaching staffs.
Do you think Clark Hunt gives a shit that 31 other fanbases believe his teams get different calls? I can, with near certainty, tell you that he does not.
