This one would break my heart. Right up there with Bill cutting Bernie

Assuming Myles were to go as well, my loyalty could be severely tested.

  • Seeing Chubb in a Steelers jersey would be so depressing. If there was one thing that could happen this offseason that would make me even more numb to the Browns, that would be it.

  • Never buy a player jersey until they retire.  They make terrible rags.  You can't even use them to wash your car.

My two Browns jerseys are both Nick Chubb, and I'll wear those for years with pride, regardless of where he ends his career.

I really hope he comes back here though, on an incentive-laden contract, and we draft one or two RBs and go RB by committee.

  • Eww, no

  • Shelf life for RB’s isn’t long , Chubb has exceeded his limit. Too many leg issues to be the player he once was.

That's what the Giants said about Saquan Barkley

Did Barkley ever have a season after a gruesome injury where he averaged a little over 3 yards a carry?

Hopefully Nick won't end up on a team that plays him after rehabbing from a serious injury during a meaningless tanking season. Thanks coach ?

Once upon a time, an injury as extensive as 3 different parts of the knee took 2 full years of rehab to see the player almost fully back to the same productivity.  I still think there's a chance to see Chubb averaging about 4.5 yards a carry if this FO ever figures out to throw or pass - upgrading the OLINE is quite necessary. LG Bitonio is going on his 12th year; LT Wills never broke a sweat + remains disinterested (as our 2 projected starting tackles are always injured); Dawand Jones is 2 for 2 showing up out of shape/overweight and ending on IR as the #1 back for either tackle spot; RG Wyatt Teller is reliable as is C Ethan Pocic for the most.

Guarantee you all he's busting tail this off season.  What I can't guarantee is any remaining mental trauma suffered lingers on to keep him from breaking long runs of old.

If there's anyone who could come back and be productive again it is Nick Chubb, but there is something to consider - Father Time is undefeated.

With that bad running game Ford averaged like two yards a carry more than Chubb did.

Did you see Ohio State's Treveon Henderson run a 4.4/40 yesterday? He was flyin'!

True but I think we can find a couple more years in this guy. I remember when Calvin Hill came here as a 31 year old veteran that had a few knee surgeries and he played for 3 years as our 3rd down back.  Fans were thinking what's he gonna do?  He changed a lot of minds.  Am I wishful thinking here?  Maybe.  Like you reminded above though - if anyone is gonna do such a thing it's Chubb.

I'd love to see them bring him back, but if I was the Browns I wouldn't count on him being the #1 guy anymore. I like the idea of bringing him back and adding a rookie or two and going RB by committee.

Exactly.  That's what Calvin Hill became almost exclusively with the injury history.  It wouldn't be such a bad thing to start with a similar plan; and adapt accordingly if it appears expectations have been exceeded.

    hell yes, good times

  • Shitsburgh lands DK Metcalf in a trade with Seattle. Metcalf won't matter much if Russ/Fields is still the QB. Are they making a move for Darnold maybe?
