Shedeur Sanders

The Browns Board

  • Listening to Steve Pallazollo and Sam Monson on youtube give their top 5 teams, they go directly back to the Browns after listing each of theirs and Monson made a great comment that really summed it up. He said if they had reversed the positions of when they took Sanders and Gabriel, you would have said the Browns knocked this ball right out of the park as the best draft of 2025 with the addition of a great DT, LB, 2 excellent RBs and Fannin plus 2 1st rounders next year. That comment hits the nail on the head exactly. They desperately need a QB and are bringing in two new ones to compete for the position giving them a greater likelihood of finally landing the QB position correctly. I agree completely with their assessment. And additionally they said so what if it was a weird way to get there, "That's a great haul!"

If next year wasn't supposed to have any QBs I could see taking 2 this year, or even grabbing someone sooner like Dart? Next year is supposed to be great for QBs especially if Manning does come out(number of QBs wise). I'm pretty sure that's our main objective and we have the picks to move up if needed. We just need to be patient another year - lol.

Sanders was nothing more than a projected round 1 pick landing in the 5th, last minute opportunity. If they had any plans on taking him they would have pulled the trigger sooner and who knows what about Gabriel. Do we really rate Gabriel above Sanders? Do we think anyone else would have taken Gabriel before Sanders? Reversing their picks definitely would have made more sense. Still can't past the drama/distraction that's expected though I won't focus on that anymore until it hits me in the face during the season.

I'm not bitching though, it just seems they didn't stick to their guns. Still looking forward to the season and looking forward to seeing how our new QBs do, except maybe Pickett lol.

  • On the flip side of this coin.

How'd you like to be at Colorado?

...having to wonder if the HC will be focused on his team or on being a helicopter parent for his adult son.

Exactly. Rothlicksbooger - 6'5", 240 lbs. Will Howard - 6'4", 236 lbs. I don't get that he didn't get drafted in the third round.

    Stupid haslams.

Well, I respectfully disagree with he.  I think this was the best scenario for the team.  They liked Gabriel's game better than Sanders'.  And this is how they should be listed on the depth chart.  IMO

  • Overall, Sanders' natural and pure passing abilities are the strength of his game. He is a high-floor prospect with a good ceiling to buy into. Sanders is best suited for a quick-passing offense, where he can play on time and on schedule. He has the mental aptitude and accuracy to become a franchise-leading quarterback.

    MEASUREMENT AND WORKOUT RESULTS

    HEIGHT: 6'1"

    WEIGHT: 198

    HAND: 9⅜"

    ARM: 31½"

    WINGSPAN: 77¾"

    POSITIVES

    — High-level passer, throws with great accuracy, and ball placement from the pocket.

    — Displays mental resolve in late-game/clutch situations. Trustworthy when the game is on the line.

    — Accustomed to throwing from muddy pockets. He stands tall to deliver the ball downfield.

    — When protected, picks defenses apart with precision and surgical process.

  • Shedeur was a disaster in the interview process..  A team intentionally put mistakes in an install during the interview and Shedeur didn't catch them.

Nobody threw more bubble screens in the P5 than Shedeur.

If this was a Haslam Special... Haslam is now 0-2 when he demands a specific QB, 0-3 if you include Mr. Massage.  My brother in Christ, just stay away.

Sounds just like Tyrod Taylor doesn't it?

Only to people with limited knowledge on, well, anything.

  • You guys are sweating a 5th round pick too much with 2 or 3 starters ahead of him. Barring injury I'd be surprised if he starts a regular season game this season.

That’s if his dad will let him play.

While you are right, at the end of the day he's just a 5th round pick, I think the Browns are quietly punting on this season record-wise. Not a full-on tank job or rebuild, more of a soft retool.

I'm going to put this out into the Browns Board Universe now: It would not shock me if Joe Flacco is cut or traded before the season starts and they role with Pickett/Gabriel/Sanders - and all three start games by the end of the season.

This team is being built for the season or two leading into the new stadium in Brookpark.

I'll say it again.. The Browns are NOT a team that can afford to piss away ANY draft choices

I'd much rather have the 2 rookies learn from Flacco than Pickett.  Though in your scenario it doesn't matter what these 2 QB's learn because we're drafting our real QB next April.

I was watching Jason Lloyd from the Athletic on the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show and he brought up a good point regarding Pickett and Flacco: The Browns went and got Pickett with a draft pick as fast as they could... while they took their sweet time signing Flacco.
