You are the guy I forced to change his name and then run and hide for months on the Political Board... ?

You literally have a dead name because of me. You transitioned because of me. ?

There's absolutely nothing you can say that changes that, they/them.

  • Hopefully that’s over. Just gonna throw this out there, it’s totally possible to start a group chat on this site. Hash it out amongst yourselves. Banter’s great when it’s upbeat, but when it gets ugly, take it elsewhere please.

Also, Shadeur Sanders released a song called “Perfect Timing” about a year ago. It’s not very good.

    A private chat room?

Nah. I suggested something even better - that I'd meet that limp dick in his hometown in person.

Hiding behind a keyboard talking shit is all Gorka is. He's a bitter, pathetic old man. ?

And that’s fine too. Anywhere but here please. The popcorn gets stale for us bystanders after a while.

Feel free to give me shit for my sensitive sensibilities. That would be perfectly upbeat banter.

Once upon a time, Zombo & Atenears got so tired of all the complaints they received - they ended up giving Ghoolie his own Moshpit in one of the miscellaneous forums adjacent to the Barbershop.  Anyway, he could start 1 thread a week and only post in that thread in that forum.  It was like an anything goes - enter at your own risk (because he ate his muzzle) type of thing so all those that didn't appreciate his style didn't have to read it.  However, there's a catch here - most of his threads prior to that happening usually had a ton of views and a lot of participation.  I went in there busted his balls and gave him a couple snacks here and there.  I might have even given him a belly rub or 2 while we were trading insults.

One thing to keep in mind - there's never been any physical violence that came out of this forum.  Never. Not 1 single example of it. That's why Stan got so aggravated when 1 guy tattled almost weekly in here. There is no Big Bad Woof!

I've got a face for radio, a voice for print and I'm completely tone deaf.

    This is pretty bad.

  • Back to Sanders. I saw something to the effect that his dad does not want him to go to the NFL now because he makes more money staying at CU. I don't know if it's legal once someone goes through the draft, gets drafted and then says they want to stay. Highly doubt it,.

It may depend if you hire an agent or not. but IIRC, once you're drafted you can't back out.

The saddest reality is many of these people falling for overtly fake media are still in extremely important levels of decision making. That's the truly scary part.

    Name some.

But I hear ya. A lot of people rely on The View, Rachael Maddow, and CNN as their source for news.

And a  LOT of folks here rely on the FOX entertainment Channel, Breitbart, OAN, Epoch Times, and Newsmax as their source for news... It's why I pretty much have given up posting here. Tell Cal I said HI.

Veteran ESPN Analyst Lists The Condition That Needs To Be Fulfilled For Shedeur Sanders To Be Browns’ Week 1 Starter

In a nutshell, he's gotta understand the system and the plays backwards and forward.  And then go execute the system.

The talk leading to the draft was how Sanders would be a good fit in Stefanski's system...and that Sanders was a good 'system' QB.  If that's the case, then his draft of 'Chutes & Ladders' dropped him in the right place to succeed.  He won't be asked to carry the team.  He's just gonna have to get the ball out closer to 'on time' than his college days.

Gabriel, on the other hand, Is who they really wanted and was selected long before Sanders fell into the shopping cart.  And Gabriel was selected because he does tend to get the ball out on time.  And he was highly accurate, like Sanders.  Now, one would think that Gabriel would have a leg up on Sanders...but there's the backup QB stigma Gabriel has attached to him.  When he was being chosen in round 3 he was considered the backup QB to next year's 1st round pick...with the outside chance that he turns out to be a short Steve Young.  Sanders however, was never considered as being the backup somewhere.   It's a weird and ironic kind of psychology as to how the two came to the team.  Chosen first was the backup QB, and chosen 2nd was a supposed starter.    [ I've often said, We're quite interesting in the offseason. But not so much During the season. ]  ?

All true.  We got 1 passer (Sanders) with a 74% completion rate in 2024 and another (Gabriel) with a 72.9% completion. Neither guy threw a lot of INTs. The only other guy with that type of accuracy was Ohio State's  Will Howard with a 73% completion rate.  Before Ohio State - these were Will Howard's completion percentages 53.6 in 2020, 54.5 in 2021, 59.8 in 2022 and 61.3 in 2023 at Kansas State.  The difference?  Ohio State had 2 Offensive linemen drafted in the 1st round of the 2025 draft + a great running game to lean on 2 RBs over 1000 yards.  Oregon also had a great Offensive Line (and their LT was drafted in the 1st round) with their RB Jordan James rushing for 1267 yards at 5.4 ypc with 15 rushing TDs. Both Gabriel and Howard had running games giving them a balanced attack to take the pressure off. As Howard showed us - it got a lot easier for him at Ohio State.

For a comparison, I just checked Google to see what Colorado had going on with its running game to assist the QB and here's what it showed: In 2024, Colorado's rushing game was ranked last nationally in yards per game. They finished the season with an average of only 65.2 rushing yards per game.  That might have been okay if their offensive line was good at pass protection; but they were not.  Safe to conclude Shedeur didn't have the balance/threat of a running game to keep opposing front 7s out of pin their ears back mode.  That situation also didn't lend itself for the QB to receive the type of play-action fake perks the QBs at Ohio State & Oregon got from the threat of their running games. I'm guessing that Shedeur was also responsible for some of the sacks he took. All said, it looks Shedeur made the best of a bad situation. I do agree with you that plenty of work that needs to be done with him at expediting the progression reads and the release. The same holds true for a lot of rookie QBs going to NFL teams with losing records.

All that stuff above might not make sense to anyone but me.  Even then, it might not make the slightest difference to how our rookie QBs respond to the coaching they get in Cleveland. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Agreed but I still like seeing it and using for accuracy for the sake of our discussions.  That and TD/INT ratios.  But you are right that isn't the total sum of all its parts.  McShay and other draft analysts that have studied these QBs a lot more than I have are impressed with Shedeur's accuracy.

Completion % is like good whiskey.

When you start getting over a certain price point, you really don't see any difference in product quality that merits the price increase because of (perhaps) brand name.

Conversely, when you get below a certain price point, you see quality drop off quite a bit.  But all of those at the lower price point are comparable.

Weeden was a 72.5% passer his senior year at Okie State.   He was a sub 60% at the NFL level.

A lot of collegiate offenses are 'see it, throw it' and the top tier offensive coaches are tacticians and chess players more-so than educators and cultivators of young football minds.

Because what completion percentage doesn't tell you, in terms of how it translates to the NFL, is throwing with anticipation.  And that is where the grand drop-off occurs most.  Not so much the physical delivery of a catchable ball, but where and when to go with it.

Yes, in this case it would be one of Sanders' main issues.  But stats are a measurement.  And typically, the players with the better stats are better than the payers with the lesser stats.  Typically.  Not every single time.  But most times.

Three metrics that I like for QB's is: Completion percentage.  Int's per pass attempt.  And yards per pass attempt.  -  I'm not so interested in the number of TD passes.  I think that's more important when evaluating receivers.
