The Browns Board

  • This movie is hilarious and epitomizes a passionate and never boring fanbase in Philly.  The movie starts a little slow to give you a background of the main characters and goes into a direction the reels you in.  I think about our fanbase and how politics has a way splitting us rather than accepting our differences.  I've been a part of the original board since 98 where the guy who started this board (Atenears/Stan) eventually developed the idea to start a new board for us all.  No matter what you hear that doesn't come from me directly - in pertinence to the football board; I don't care if you're a conservative or liberal if you're on the football board wanting to share the common bond we call "The Browns" that this board was named after.  If you want to talk football or about OUR team - run it man!  The funny scene at the parking lot in Philly with the Psych DR (Dr Patel) and his patient (played by Brad Cooper) is possible for people that couldn't be wired any more differently. The part that isn't shown is the ride to the game where you learn the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in terms of how much the son is just like his dad. When the dad drops him off at the parking lot he said something like "don't do anything stupid or get kicked out."  The son says "like you did dad beating up others so bad that you're banned forever?"   At the very least, we deserve to have some fun watching this team morph itself to better outcomes...

It really is a great flick.

And Jennifer Lawrence makes me feel tingly in my underpants region.

Al, I think it's on either HBO or Showtime this month so check your guide.  If memory serves me right, when the Eagles used to play at Veterans Stadium - they had a jail and court room for the naughty.  When you get about 60-70,000 sick bastards at that stadium; and most of them aren't compliant with their prescriptions - just add alcohol...

    What could possibly go wrong?

The 700 Level at Veterans Stadium was pretty notorious.

But I think it was at Franklin Field where Eagles fans threw snowballs at Santa. ?

When I was young, when the Patriots stunk, we'd go to an occasional cold weather game.  They used to throw snowballs at Pat Patriot.  I think they called him Super Patriot back then...or maybe it was just me.  🙂  I mean, the games sucked, so when the mascot came out, it was some excitement.  🙂
