  • Me thinks that Flacco will be #1 QB for week 1. Unless the other four QB's can be really good over Flacco.

Most experience with better weapons than the last time he was here which was the last winning season. Unless one of the others really steps up before regular season, I cannot disagree with you. Personally I hope it is Sanders.

  • I’m not too concerned with depth chart stuff, but l am excited to see how this season shakes out. This is the big Stefanski year in my mind. He’s been handed a lot to deal with in a short amount of time, so at the very least we’ll have a solid idea of what we got in a head coach by season’s end.

I like the guy and l’m rooting for him, obviously. If he succeeds we succeed. This might be a make or break year for him and l think he knows that.

Taking a 7 win team to within a TD of an AFC title appearance and then a wildcard game in 23' after juggling 4-5 QBs should have given a pretty "good idea"

  • Shedeur Sanders Reportedly 'Outstanding' With Browns Following …

Jun 17, 2025 · The Cleveland Browns are impressed with Shedeur Sanders after last week's mandatory minicamp, according to ESPN's Peter Schrager.

Him, Berry and a whole host of 'em.  It's Triggah Fingah Jimmah.  Though they are off to a good start to the year with the draft they had.  The only pick that was questioned was that the Gabriel pick could've happened later, but ya don't know that.  It's the QB that they wanted to come out of the draft with, so...

I don't think any organizational Big Wigs think they have to make the playoffs in order for the HC & GM to keep their jobs, especially with the current QB situation. But Triggah Fingah hasn't fired anyone in a while. He could be in withdrawal. 🙂

This is Berry and Stefanski's sixth season coming up with the Browns.

How time flies.  It seems like just yesterday when we stiffed Stef and hired the bill-hilly, Freddie Kitchens instead.

    That was a crazy season.

It doesn't help the new head coaching hire Freddie Kitchens when your alleged franchise QB shows up to training camp fat and by accounts of those that were there apparently never opened the playbook the entire off-season because getting hummers in the parking lot of the Westlake Cheesecake Factory was more important.

That's the type of truth you just can't get from CalFOX NEWS...

  • Recent reports indicate Watson could be physically ready to return by midseason, and if so, the Browns would have to decide whether to activate his practice window or keep him sidelined until 2026.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com recently provided some insight into the situation.

“One league source said Watson could be ready to practice sometime in October, but it remains to be seen if the Browns would open the window that soon, roughly nine months post-op,” Cabot wrote.

Watson reportedly has maintained his presence as a mentor in the quarterback room.

His rehabilitation has been intense, and his leadership role has become increasingly prominent.

Rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel have praised Watson’s guidance, particularly his help with red-zone concepts and pre-snap reads.

Interesting. I suppose there’s value in that. Hard to say what’s ticking Watson’s clock these days. Seems like the writing has been on the wall for a while and l’m not sure what he has to gain other than the guy really does want to compete. Good for him.

I like it. It’s unexpected and as long as the guidance is good it sounds like a positive to me.

I can't wait until he's cut next off-season and we are officially done with this nonsense.

Yeah, apparently we're not yet done enduring...

So, what if he's medically cleared to practice / play in October?  What do we do?

Obviously we need more information to narrow down an answer or three.  Like, How many and who are our QB's at that time?  Who's been the starter?  What does management think of the rookies Gabriel & Sanders at that time?

If the organization likes the QB room at the time Watson becomes available, can they just stick him on IR anyway?

If they were to put him on the PS, would another team have to pick up his contract if they take him from there?  (I'm thinking yes...)

I haven't seen a question like that since watching "Leave it to Beaver" in black and white.  "Ward - Don't you think you were hard on the Beaver last night?"

Coming off a torn achilles after playing the worst football of his career only to re-injure it can't possibly interest anybody once you also factor in 2 more years of an absurd amount of guaranteed money owed the new team would be responsible for.

So then planting him on the PS squad is a viable option...

? While we're at it here - do you think there will ever be a higher paid practice squad player?

  • Pickett.  I think Stef likes him as a fit for his system.  He can move around.  He can get wide.  He can hurt you with his legs.  And has a strong enough arm.  He was brought in to be the starter.  Flacco was then signed as insurance while knowing full well that they would be drafting someone like Gabriel.  And so that's what the batting order was planned to be.  Pickett, Flacco, someone like Gabriel.  Of course the draft came and Sanders fell onto the team...and it seems to have thrown everything up in the air...when in reality, it hasn't.  He just joins the batting order at the tail end.

At the end of TC however, they may be faced with a situation that they weren't expecting going into the draft.  The idea of  having to cut Flacco or keep 4 QB's.  But you know that that was mentioned while they were working to trade up and draft Sanders.

I expect that the 4 QB's will remain in that batting order throughout TC.  But it could happen that one of the rookies shows up such that he cannot be ignored.  Or, that Flacco shows that he's just plain that much better than Pickett.  - a few more weeks -

  • I wonder if we'll actually see all four QBs actually play in the preseason

Off season and off TC are the worst times of the football year. Ain't much to say that hasn't been beaten to death already. 1st open practice July 25. Until then it's summer hibernation time.?
