It's hard to cross eras, so this may be an exercise in futility because QB'S aren't reading defenses the way they did 35 years ago.
Who is this generations Bernie?
- Can read a defense.
- Makes smart throws.
- Relatively immobile.
- More cerebral than physically gifted.
It actually might be Flacco.
My recollection is about once or twice a game Bernie would have to scramble, usually out of necessity or self preservation. He was so gangly and awkward doing it. Yet somehow those are golden memories.
