Here we go, an extended version of Dutch's Browns Questions. Because of the Browns unique QB situation, I expanded the QB questions. Now, if you think Joe Flacco is going to start all season, then show this in your answers. If you don't think Gabriel or Sanders play much or at all, then show this in your answers. 0 starts is an acceptable answer if that is what you think happens. Make sure to answer all questions completely, some have two parts to the questions. Go Browns and good luck!

This will be locked just prior to the Browns opener vs the Bengals next Sunday.

  • Nice turnout this year, looking like a bumper crop of Dutch's Questions participants!

  • Some wild swings here on final record with syd coming in at 4-13 and Horse Balls the opposite extreme at 13-4.  Makes for a lot in interesting weeks to come.

It’s going to make for a few obvious candidates for the dummy award one way or another for sure.

Here’s to the Jaguars absolutely imploding this season!

Just in case they don't I have Travis Hunter as a late pick on my FFL team. And I took our own Fannin, Jr as my last pick.

Fannin changed his number to #44... might have to get his jersey to support the local kid plus Earnest Byner was my favorite player growing up.

  • At the Bye week...after seeing what I've seen...we could finish with 4 wins.  But we'll have to beat the Jets & Titans.

They're going to pull off a couple upsets me thinks.

    49ers, Bills, maybe the Steelers.

    Yes, I'm sober lol

No worries Bob!  Looking at my DUMB predictions - I surrendered my right to criticize anyone else in the thread.

It doesn't matter what they do because this FO probably wouldn't even draft the 6'5" Indiana Hoosier Daddy QB Fernando Mendoza if he landed on their draft slot.

Look at these dreamy 2025 stats:

I've only watched Indiana once, when they played Oregon. I like the size & agility of Mendoza too.

So much more CFB to play, then the dreaded (to me) draft talk for 3-4 months. I was leaning OT as the biggest Browns need, then I remembered back in the late 70s they signed DT Elvis Franks after finding him in a truck stop in Lodi?

So let's help DePodesta out and look for big dudes in semis, then draft the QB!!!!!

  • @dutch-oven said:

Come on TexAg, how about we not post things like this on the Browns forum?

Oh all right. I'll delete the truck driver.

OT was our biggest need last year too.  Unfortunately, our FO thought the oft-injured at LT & RT and signing on 32 year old journeyman swing tackle (Cornelius Lucas) was way more intelligent than any of us fans could possibly think of.  It was just as dumb as thinking their thinking a few years that we didn't need any decent DTs while they wanted lighter LBs.  Turns out, every opponent ran the ball done down the Browns esophagus while most of the LBers here got injured.  WAY TO BUILD this team Berry & Depodesta.  These are the knuckleheads were counting on; but they did go to Harvard before waking up stupid in Cleveland.  They're so smart that they deem everyone paying attention to their incompetence is just white noise.

Anyway, the Giants got a steal at OT in round 5 this year (Purdue's Marcus Mbow). Began at Purdue as a Guard and became their starting RT before starting at LT for the Giants as an NFL rookie (until veteran starter Andrew is healthy enough to begin his 2025 season).  This choice was a steal for the Giants.  Keep in mind, the Browns traded for a QB in round 5 that they had ZERO intention of playing - that move was only done to put the 1st smile on Jimmy's face since the draft started.  More specifically, it was a FO save-their-ass plan if their 3rd round QB and and Flacco/Pickett didn't work.

JMO, this isn't a draft with an Orlando Pace, Joe Thomas, Anthony Munoz or Walter Jones worthy of being selected in any of the 1st 5 draft slots.  That doesn't mean my intuition is correct.  I know how much we desperately need much better help at both Tackle spots as 3 wins and whatever we're heading for this year remind us.  Any FO that shortens the pass protection down to the distance of LG to RG plays pretend that this era has no dangerous edge rushers to worry about.  Even worse, we have no WRs that can get immediately get open in order to somewhat counter the lack of pass pro on the edges.  This is all just very bad FO planning with too many dead ends on their road map. I'm glad they finally gave us a draft most of us were happy about; but 1 in the last 4-5 years doesn't cut it in the AFC North.

All that to say, we desperately need a QB, LT and a WR within our 1st 3 picks.  We also need to realize we will lose the RT and probably both reliable OGs. DBs are going to be a need as well.  I think Wypler is ready to start at C.  So what does it all mean?  Look for the Browns to draft an edge rusher 1st.  We can win without scoring points right?  Look how good it's been working these last 2 seasons... ?
