So, two games in the books...not exactly a wealth of data but some things start to look familiar.  Like, the way we're always underwater in the Giveaway / Takeaway category, and our inability to run the ball...which does not look like it should improve facing the #2 run defense in the league.  And we need our running game to be effective in order to help the passing game.  Flacco is a target back there in the pocket.  The DLine has to fear our running game and not just be thinking 'sack Flacco' on every snap.

We have good defensive stats...but the D is not going to score enough points to win games.  Nor is the D going to catch, and not drop, passes for 1st downs.  Heck, our D isn't good at catching passes at all ( Give/Take category ).

We've got to get a win here.  I don't care who the opponent is, we cannot go 0-3 and expect things to be ok.  The media ( analysts, insiders, whatever the heck they want to call talking heads ) will start coming out with all kinds of theories, rumors, ideas, etc.  And none of 'em will be flattering.

This is a MUST win if I've ever seen one.  In saying such a thing - I'm gonna go crack-pipe saying this might be a good time to insert Gabriel for a pre-scripted series somewhere in the 1st quarter.  If a hot hand comes out of it - stick with it another series.  If it doesn't, well he got some learning curve and experience under fire and the Browns can put the old feller back in.

I'm thinking Myles wants to remind Micah Parsons why Micah explained why Myles was the obvious choice for Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.  Clearly, that's not an animosity thing as much as it is just a motivator to show his NFL competition - he's still #1.

My hope is we can catch a GB team that keeps hearing how unbeatable they are at the perfect time for an upset.  I may be old - I may be tired; but that doesn't mean I'm uninspired....

  • I felt sorry for my son-in-law betting a 5 way parlay in last night's game. It involves things like the Bills RB getting more than 21.5 yards in his first 5 carries, Waddle catching a pass for more than 14 yards, etc. He had gotten the first 4 and his last one was Josh Allen getting more than 249 yards running and passing. His last carry was one yard short of a push (which still wins a 4 game parlay) and 2 yards short of $132 win for all 5.

Too bad that back in the day most TV segments were set up such that they couldn't actually 'play' live.  They had to sing to the backing track.  The drummer couldn't even hit the cymbals.  You can search out a live performance by them, Badfinger live set of 6.  A tragic story, but they were freakin' good!

Actually he's just betting on individual stats, not individual game outcomes. And he's well ahead making very low bets each week.

I like the Browns in the FIRST half to cover.  I think we come out at home fired up and make some plays, but I can easily see this being a 4-6 point type Packer lead in the second half and Joe or company does something that 3-14 team does and we see a 11-14 type Packer win

our damn kicker game 1 Jackass

  • We owe the Packers one. 2017 the refs gave them the game here ( & Hue, Kizer).

Create some turnovers & convert into points. This is one game I had the Browns winning, right now that's looking bleak.

I hear ya; and I'm not of the opinion the Browns get screwed a lot by officiating crews. That said, I do have an example where I join Troy Aikman in thinking the Browns got screwed against the same beneficiaries in green and yellow Bob. Troy Aikman commentated that Christmas Day Game in 2021 saying that Official who refused to call blatant interference on the GB DB needed to make that call and didn't.  I don't know if Troy put some cake down on the game; but he reacted like "I'm doing this game on a holiday and the officiating crew can't play straight pool?"  He went on to say something like people can blame Baker all they want but if the official in perfect position to make the call does the right thing - Cleveland wins this game.

I actually forgot about that play, maybe it was the Xmas bourbon binge lol.

I do remember that was about the end for a certain someone who had the town in his hands, until another someone's dad decided to post a nasty video.

The Pack is playing well right now, the Browns aren't. All the makings of an upset special ( please?).

  • Look at this beautiful map.

About half the nation gets to see the Browns game in all its glory this weekend, at least geographically speaking. Alaska is a big help if Juneau what l’m saying.

All the big beefy northern states get the game. Minnesowwta, both Dakotas and Montana. It’s gonna be a Helena good time.

And ALL of Ohio! How about that? Even my forsaken homies in Van Wert.

Most of the rest of the midwest gets the action too. Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa and most of Illinois. Hopefully the Browns will win and we can raise a glass of Champaign.

5 key things to watch as the Green Bay Packers face the Cleveland Browns in Week 3

    Key points:

    • Packers quarterback Jordan Love is expected to continue attempting deep passes despite some missed opportunities.
    • The potential absence of injured tight end Tucker Kraft could impact the Packers' offensive strategy.
    • The Packers' offense will face a tough challenge against a Browns defense that leads the NFL in several key categories.
    • Packers aren’t taking the ball away much but they’re not giving it up either

    • Packers haven’t had to blitz much to create pressure on the quarterback

    • Packers will have to use multiple tight ends to try to slow Browns defense

    • Browns might not let the Packers offense get started

  • We owe the Packers one. 2017 the refs gave them the game here ( & Hue, Kizer).

Something about a blind squirrel lol.

Wow, Delpit doesn't normally make many plays in pass defense but I absolutely love him in run support. How many times do we see DBs drop those gift-wrapped throws around the league?

I was down in Cincinnati bowling the Hoinke Tournament, of course it was the BenGals game all over the TVs. One of the guys in our group had the Browns game on his phone. Nothing like 16 guys trying to watch a 2" x 4" screen???.

#woof, next week will be a extreme challenge, let's enjoy this W all week??

Delpit functions fine as a 2nd level defender.

When you move him back to that 3rd level he can be a liability.  Especially as a single high safety.

What are your thoughts on Ronnie Hickman? I was talking to a friend during the game and mentioned that I thought a secondary need was a safety in the draft, he retorted that he liked both Delpit and Hickman.
