He was the first thing I thought when I heard about last Sunday's results.

Bring him in to compete with DA for this season, trade BQ off for some kind of need and end this mess. At the end of the season, you decide if you need to trade, draft or sit on what you have for a QB for next season.

You do realize Garcia has been here before, right? And how that turned out?

Ya let's leave garcia right where he is... It's bad enough I again have to watch one QB that lost his job before, no need to bring another one back...

    2004 Cleveland Browns 76.7

    2005 Detroit Lions 65.1

    2006 Philadelphia Eagles 95.8

    2007 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 94.6

    2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 90.2

Surely he is a serviceable backup.

Man whoever gets him is in for a big year... 3 yards and a cloud of dust, as the defenders that'd crowded the line unpile after yet another short gain.

We're assuming the team he goes to actually isn't the worst talented/coached team in the league. If Quinn gets out of this shit hole and finds himself in a decent situation, he will flourish and you're going to look pretty drunk and stupid.

You should probably keep quiet about your opinion of Quinn 'til he does something to make it appear you know what you are talking about.

    Careful there Mr. DA-Isn't-An-INT-Machine 😉

Why should he? You can't seem to keep your douchey mouth shut, even after DA proves he's the same loser he has always been. Instead you make excuse after excuse.

Jon Gruden on Sirius radio today ( when asked to comment on the problems of JaMarcus and Brady ) that he wishes he had the keys to Quinn for 1 season because he has the desire, brains, build and arm to succeed in this game.

Would that be someone who knows what they are talking about?

I would love to have gruden... as long as we have great coordinators to go with him.

BUT INTERNET PEOPLE ARE SAYING HE HAS A NOODLE ARM. THEY CAN'T BE WRONG, CAN THEY?

Of course not. People that have never actually evaluated NFL QBs always know more 🙂

Oh, well good. I was starting to think that people that know more about football than the average forum poster might have better evaluative skills. The good news is that I was wrong and all is right with the world.

  • Maybe it's a slow sports week or something but i find it interesting how much press this thing has gotten. Even PTI just debated it. I guess it's because it is Quinn and Mangini and the short time the ND QB was given to prove himself.

  • The real incredible thing here is: you give 6 starts to your former first round pick and then you decide you've seen enough.

Anderson is the better prospect. Let's all deal with that and move on.

Maybe he saves the season, maybe he sucks and we start with a new QB next year.

But I've seen enough of Quinn to know that Anderson brings more to the table with his arm and quick release. You get a guy like Anderson to play smarter and more disciplined ... you've got something.

Quinn has pretty average skills and he's not ready for prime time.

Anderson has better skills and more seasoning.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

EXCELLENT! I agree completely. I've been saying all along DA's weaknesses can be coached up. Quinn's weaknesses all stem from a lack of ability. I was all for giving Brady an entire year however, now that that isn't going to happen, it's time to go with my plan since 2006. COACH DA UP!!! Develope that ability and see what we can get out of him.

  • Do you know who really HATES the decision to start DA?

    The Bengals!!!!!

Oh boy does he have the build to succeed. I'm getting wood just thinking about it. Can't have a QB without the build to succeed.

    No wonder Gruden got canned.

  • Please tell us how you would "coach up" DA, considering he hasn't shown anything different in his game since college?

    Thanks.

He coached a journeyman QB in Rich Gannon to an MVP and another journeyman QB to a Super Bowl victory. Yeah I'm pretty sure he knows WTF he is talking about.

Yes, because no one has been trying to do that since his freshman year of college 🙄

Seeing as how DA's last 2 starts against CIN look like following, I am pretty sure they have no feelings on the decision:

    @CIN 29/48 251 Yards, 5.2 Y/A, 2 TD, 4 INT, 1 sack

    @CIN 15/24 138 Yards, 5.8 Y/A, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 sack, 1 fum
