  • Unless the commitment is to run the ball 45 times a game, this is a net zero in pass pro.

Would love to see if he can kick in to play guard.

The Texans OLine is trash, CJ Stroud's career has stalled because of it.

I can't be too optimistic about a guy that team with that OLine would trade.

  • not a big deal. He couldn't start with the Texans...

we'll see. I think ole Rich must be working in the

Browns scouting dept - he threw off on olinemen all the time....

Right.  We got this guy and a 7th rounder and gave up a 6th rounder.  We probably weren't drafting a superstar with that pick anyway.

    Yes.  LT out of Auburn.

No, he's a LT out of Alabama.  You were probably just tired or stunned about the news when you typed that because we had a conversation on the discord not too long ago when we were watching Wills about some of the OL from Bama that didn't meet their draft day expectations. You mentioned Cam Robinson was disappointing in pass pro but a decent run blocker.  Trying to be an adult explaining to Cal what he's paraphrasing from sportswriters can be very distracting.

Anyway, I typed this in another thread not seeing this one already existed - Offensive Tackle remains a joke here and they'll blow it off again next year.  If Cam Robinson was capable of helping anybody in the same conference Houston plays in - would they only be giving him up for a late round draft pick? If anyone watched the NFC Wildcard Game between the Vikings and Rams this past January - the Rams sacked Darnold 9 times.  Not saying it was Cam Robinson's fault per say  - but they didn't usually give up that many sacks before Starting LT Christian Darrisaw was injured and replaced so it was at least very coincidental...

Another example of this FO not watching film. Jimmy has no idea - he probably thinks they saved the pass protections on the blind side.

Here's some potential good news if/when they change the starting QB to Gabriel - he's left handed so that struggling pass pro from our LT is no longer on the blind side of QB.  "Get ready to move your ass rookie" will be well advertised at every pre-snap read from Gabriel.  Other good news?  Shedeur's dad has learned to thank God that his son is not starting here...

Got our Robinsons mixed up here a good bit.

They both act like open turnstiles so we aren’t that far off.

If he can get out of his stance better than Lucas and The other Ram/Kstate castoff we are slightly better

    ? Well said!

If Cam can move quicker than the speed of park at the snap - there's a slight chance of pass pro happening.  The things we have to hope for...

  • It was announced today!   He'll be wearing #68.  That does it for the important news of the day.

    Exactly.

Teams aren't trading starting OT's and they aren't trading their set in stone back-ups. They are trading 3rd level guys who bring a trade return such as we saw.  It's probably an upgrade but considering how bad that bum we were playing was, it isn't worthy of throwing a parade for the guy.
