The difference... Prince was a real musician who didn't need autotune or gimmicks.. He appealed to everybody... And didn't act like a jerk.. I wasn't a huge fan but I respected the body of work.. He was a hard working artist....

People that worked with him said he was a bit of a jerk. He was a perfectionist. And he sure wore a lot of frilly stuff.
I recently watched Purple Rain with my gf. I’d seen it before but it had been a while. There are some super weird scenes in that movie.

Yeah when he was younger he was a bit out there.. as he got older he mellowed out.. He would redo entire sets on the fly and the musicians had to keep up with him.. I'm talking day of the show stuff.. And I know exactly how hard that is... I literally learned songs on the fly I literally had to learn 60 songs in one week.. And theres no time to dick around. I even learned songs during a performance out of the blue.. You have to spend more time listening than actually playing.. I actually learned Whiiping Post by the Allman Bros on the spot.. And to this day.. I have no Idea how the fuck I pulled it off.. But I got it note for note.. knew all the breaks because I listened to it a gazillion times..

Prince was an extremely talented guitarist and song writer.
He didn't wear a skirt that I can recall..
He sang in English..

Prince? Are you kidding me?
Prince wore a skirt or two. High heels. Make up. He was basically one step below David Bowie.
He was a helluva musician.

Hell that’s nothing new either. Gloria Estefan was involved in the 1999 halftime show.
The late 90s was such a weird time in pop music. It’s like anything that had ever been popular during the whole century was suddenly popular again. Swing, jazz, ska, ragtime…
The 1999 halftime show was Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

For me it's a non issue... He was great.. I love his Madhouse records... Those records in my view really showed his genius in fusing Jazz, Funk and rock in a tightly mixed format.. And I loved the fact that all the song titles were numerically named instead the usual song title format.. I thought he was an alright guitarist... But not ground breaking by any means like Eddie and Randy.. Bambi I think is his best guitar solo.. Sounds like he used a big muff on that track... It's a great solo .. He almost goes into Neal Schon territory on it.. My guess is he was a closet NS fan.. But who wasn't in the 70's and 80's.. I certainly was... Between him and Michael Schenker and Steve Lukather I would say is where my sense of melody came from besides all of the Bert Kaempfert records my father blasted when I was a hid... His melodies were catchy...

I go to a lot of baseball games. “God Bless America” is a 7th inning stretch thing, typically played after “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”, but only on Sundays and special occasions like holidays and playoff games. Plenty of people miss it because they’re too drunk or sucked up in conversations or something.
I tried to Google what he was doing during the National Anthem, that happens before the first pitch. No dice on that search.
it’s kinda cool Turning Point is putting on their own alternate halftime show. I’m curious if his widow was the mastermind behind it? If they pull it off it could be a regular thing. I’m not seeing who the acts are but l’m sure they’re scrambling to piut that together now. Kid Rock is probably on board. I look forward to seeing it come together.

Actually it’s the host city that makes the final decision.
So the league starts with popular performers who appeal to as many people as possible and goes from there. However, it’s not the NFL that chooses who takes the stage. The league comes up with a short list, but the host cities pick the Super Bowl halftime performers.
From AI
Selection process
NFL and Roc Nation shortlist:
The NFL's entertainment team, which includes members from Roc Nation, develops a shortlist of artists based on factors like genre relevance, popularity, and cultural impact.
Host city input:
The host city receives this list and has a role in the final selection.
Host city influence:
The host city can suggest artists that have a local connection or fit the city's brand, such as Usher's residency in Las Vegas, which made him a top choice for the Super Bowl held there, notes NPR.
Final decision:
The host city then makes the final decision from the shortlist, sometimes with the NFL's agreement.

Except at Yankee Stadium where God Bless America is played at every game.
Fitting. A tradition in NY since 9/11 when filthy Arab terrorists took down the World Trade Center.
This piece of garbage who achieved his success here should have stood up like everyone else.

Right.
The snowflake happened to be the one who refused to stand like everybody else in a venue where this has become tradition post 911.
What was this poor snowflakes issue?
As a snowflake you should know. You’re up on those kinds of things.
