I'm really hoping Ohio State makes it to the Big 10 Championship game... My brother acquired a pair of tickets through his job.. He was chosen by the main reps in Urban Air of which he owns and runs two facilities of the indoor amusement park theme in Northeast Ohio to receive two tickets and an all expenses paid weekend... And guess whose going?... That be me!.. To see Ohio State get there would be the thrill of thrills other than the Browns winning the SB... Take care of that team up north.. But just to go is a bucket list dream any sports fan could love... I'll be taking lots of snaps to share... Go BUCKS!!
Incidentally... The Big Ten Championship will be held in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Field..... Has Fernando Mendoza faced a defense like Ohio State?.... This would be one tough ass matchup for both teams respectively... Makes me wonder if the stars are aligned... Mendoza and Sayin... Two future NFL stars in the making!

That’s pretty cool. I looked in to tickets for that game a couple weeks ago once l realized there was a solid chance it would be IU v. OSU. Should be a good game and l’m interested in seeing Mendoza and the Hoosiers and how they play against stouter competition.

That's awesome! Hope it's a great game! The closest Mendoza probably came to facing anyone on Ohio State's level was when he led his team to a W over Oregon. Not too many other huge tests although playing without his best WR (Elijah Sarratt) presented a little challenge against PSU's defense Coordinated by former Buckeye DC Jim Knowles - although the game ended with a great comeback W led by Mendoza with about 30 seconds to go. He's accumulating the resume of a 1st overall pick in tandem with ideal size, arm talent, athleticism. The stats cut and pasted below from ESPN reflect a lot of great stuff.

I’d get off the QB train. Ty Simpson (if he stays), Dante Moore (if he stays) and Julian Sayin and Darian Mensah will all have a good chance of being better NFL QBs than Mendoza.
New GM new HC they will not want to be saddled with finding the franchise QB first 3/4 months of their jobs. 2026 will be about supporting the QB. The will find a stopgap. This essentially buys them a season too. If we are fortunate enough to be in position to hold the top pick we know one team with picks and a severe need (Jets) another team that will finish ahead of the Jets (Saints) to compete and drive up the price. Ballsy move passing on Mendoza but not when you look ahead to what will be available not crazy to think.

As of today I’m kind of leaning this way too… I would take Mendoza (probably) if he fell into our laps, but a team in desperate need for a youth infusion I don’t think I would trade away high picks to get him.

Yeah, I'm stubborn & stupid though. I'm 61 years old thinking we're being patient enough with 3-14 football followed by another disappointing season. Do you really want to go through another bad year in 2026 to get a shot at the best QB in the 2027 draft (even so if there's 1 or 2 teams worse than the Browns - then they gotta trade up via parting with multiple important picks again). Been there - which is why we're here suddenly needing an adult sized QB, 2 reliable OTs, a #1 WR and 1 or 2 OGs. Wypler can play Center if Pocic departs. We also need help in the secondary before drafting depth/STs guys.... IMO, anyone that wants a GM job should already be very familiar with 2026 prospects that can help this team.
Unfortunately, doing anything because of impatience probably gets the same result as betting on games with with your heart.

Understandable & I like that very 1st phrase I bolded above because it quietly includes subject to change. It seems like the only way the Browns end up with Mendoza is if they have the worst record this year earning them the 1st overall pick. The Jets will be competing for that same slot because they're pretty talented at losing too. Having said that - the Jets now have as many as five 1st round picks + two 2nd round picks (in 2026 & 2027 combined) if they need to trade up to the 1st spot...

And if the Browns have that first spot, make them pay a ton of those picks to get to #1.

Here's a QB of a 7-2 USC team (that beat Michigan) I've heard very little about. Good size, sufficient experience & pretty good stats. They're playing Iowa this week which should be a good matchup to watch; and a good measuring stick for Maiava. Iowa held Mendoza to a 56.5% comp rate in a 20-15 loss.

Looks like many of the 2026 QB prospects have some interesting challenges below. LaNorris Sellers will be looking into the teeth of Texas A&M's Defense; Ty Simpson will face the Oklahoma defense that helped beat Michigan; Dante Moore's challenge is a Minnesota D that ranks 6th in the the country at total opponent yards and 10th in opponent points. I've never been a big fan of Clemson's Cade Klubnik but supply and demand might shove him up to round 2 or 3. That being the case, he's facing a Louisville Defense on Friday Night that has already reminded Carson Beck you still throw INTs when he rewarded them with 4. I don't think Klubnik plays for a better offense than Miami so beating Louisville with a great game from QB could begin to up his stock. Anyway, what matchups interest you most and what prospects would you like to see in a Browns uniform next year? Feel free to share it or merely just get yourself to thinking about better things to come...

Yes it is on fox, I hate the fucking ducks and like to see them lose and their players get hurt
Syd, are they still continuing the annual rivalry game between Oregon & Oregon State? As much as I enjoy the BCS playoffs - it sucks to lose some of the big traditional rivalry games in the process of loading up the Big 10, SEC, & ACC. That said, I'm thinking some of these may be continuing at least at some capacity like every other year or 2 - but I wouldn't place any bets on it.
Once upon a time there was a big rivalry between programs like Oklahoma & Nebraska; Penn State & Pittsburgh; Washington & Washington State; Michigan & Notre Dame; Miami & Florida State; and many others I can't think of off the top of my head...
I welcome the only Defensive Coordinator to earn a Superbowl Ring in New Orleans while understanding Revenge of the Nerds is a sequel. "Come get some!" -
It took a miracle largest comeback in A&M history to beat S.C. 31-30 after being down 30-3 at halftime. Every mistake you can think of was committed by the whole team to be down that far. Then they changed uniforms at halftime. S.C had 27 unanswered points the first half and A&M had 28 unanswered the 2nd half.
-
Saw part of the Oklahoma -Alabama game. Smith threw for a lot of yards but missed several wide open throws under pressure. Of course with our O line, he could throw from a rocking chair ( as long as holds the ball for < 1 second).

I think you mean Simpson; but yeah this was his worst game. Everybody has a stinker. Looks like he need to play 1 more season at Bama. This is his 1st year as a starter. FWIW, Oklahoma also made Michigan's highly paid NIL QB Bryce Underwood struggle - here's the Goggle summary:
Bryce Underwood struggled against Oklahom finishing with a line of 9-for-24 passing for 142 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions in a 24-13 loss. He faced constant pressure from Oklahoma's defense, completing zero passes in eight attempts against the blitz, and was sacked. Despite the difficult outing, Michigan coach Sherrone Moore noted Underwood showed poise and confidence.

What is your take on the SEC?
I believe it is the deepest conference but Maybe missing the 2019 LSU, 2020 Bama or 2022 Georgia type team.

And ironically their receiver who was scoring a lot last night is an A&M WR transfer this year, Noah Thomas. Stockton has only 3 ints for the entire season.

And I have no idea who else besides Bama goes to the SEC championship game. I don't know the SEC determining math if A&M loses to Texas to be 11-1, 7-1 in conference play like Georgia whose only loss was to Bama. The SEC eats its own, I do know that.??
-
Found a Sporting News article that spells out how the SEC unfolds for the Championship Game. Win or lose against Texas, A&M still goes to the CFC Playoffs. Lose and it's Georgia vs Bama. Win and it's A&M vs Bama if Bama and Georgia win out in regular season. If A&M beats Texas and loses to Bama, they still go to the playoffs at 12-1. Lose to Texas and we still go at 11-1.

Hate to openly root for us to tank, but definitely do not want to get into a pissing match with the Jets to get him.
Finishing with the first overall pick would allow us to keep all our other picks, which we need.

Thanks IBB! Yeah, he was 22 of 24 for 299 yards passing with 4 TD passes and no INTs. I think he almost wrapped up the Heisman the last 2 weeks; if it wasn't for my favorite Right Tackle Spencer Fano out in Utah.?
If anyone is going to challenge Mendoza for the Heisman - I think I saw who and maybe why in a game televised at College Station yesterday. Here's what Google says better than Flugel about it:
