The Official Browns vs Ravens Game 10 Thread

  • Wasn't expecting a win but they kept it so close to lose frustratingly at the end. Watched about half of the first half and the entire second half. Shedeur looked as bad as one would expect without any 1st team reps early but settled down later with a few great throws. Let's see what a week of prep does for him if Gabriel doesn't clear concussion protocol. Schwesinger is not only DROY but probably a rookie pro bowler as well. Another great game from Myles but once again the D gave up a game losing play.

  • Ya know what?  Our starting LT was bad.  But when he went out and 72 came in, it got worse!

The D did a nice job, with a couple of run gaffs.  Jackson held onto the ball until Myles could get him a bunch of times.

    Another INT for Schwessinger.

We couldn't get a run game going.  And since we can't pass...we're dead in the water.

I was afraid that Sanders might enter a game because of a Gabriel injury.  I was hoping he'd have the opportunity to practice with the ones for the week leading up to his first start.  He played about what might've been expected for a rookie under those circumstances.

  • I mean...Dillon Gabriel seems destined to run a practice squad.  Why bother?

It was sad that the fans were Boo-ing him.  But the team is losing all the time, and if he misses an open receiver with a pass...well, he's got 2 strikes against him already...he's a midget and nobody liked the draft pick from the get go...so, the Boo's come out.

It's the NFL. You have to be able to compete. He's not an NFL level talent from what I've seen. Is Sanders? You know, probably not.  Maybe they'll play with an energy though. They don't really have that right now.

Before the game, I wanted Shedeur to start the second half. Got my wish and confirmed the fact that he had zero reps with the ones, the OL didn't even know his cadence so yes he looked as bad as you would expect. However he's not afraid to attack downfield unlike Gabriel.

Tbh, everybody they put behind center looks like total ass this year.

Yeah but he runs backwards a lot..

  • I remember when Mike Pettine was the HC, and he was constantly asked when he was going to start Johnny Manziel at QB.

Pettine had a front row seat to see how incompetent Manziel was, but he kept saying he wasn’t ready yet.

UNTIL Haslam forced him to start Manziel against the Bengals, and it was fugly!

I was getting this same vibe from Stefanski, except that Sanders wasn’t a first round pick but from what I heard he’s a Haslam pick.

As a Browns fan I would love to see Sanders light it up, but that’s my heart…not my head.

My head says the Browns will have a high draft pick, and Berry and Stefanski won’t be around during the 26’ draft.

Of course an immature drunken nut job like you would infuse racism into it...

I never said anything about his skin color you moron... But it sure seems to bother you more than anyone you "Shiddur" knob slobbin' cocksucker!

  • I'll tell you what?  In this concussion cautious era you really need 2 QB's ready to play.  With almost any hit the league can get your QB in then blue tent...then trot him into the locker room...and even if he's eventually cleared to come back in he's missed quite a chunk of time.

  • If Sanders didn’t get any snaps with the 1st team in practice that is on the head coach , how could anyone expect to perform any better than he did. Hopefully Jimmy has the balls to fire Shitpanzi today, and clear out the front office while he’s at it. The NFL is about winning and this team isn’t and hasn’t been able to.

It's maddening how the backup QBs in CLE get all the attention.

THIS is what I've been saying for a while now...

Some of you can whine and cry and scream and yell about firing Stefanski, or Berry, or Stefanski and Berry and perhaps you will get your wish at the end of the year. Perhaps with Stefanski even sooner.

But the problem - the REAL PROBLEM - sits at top of this organization and speaks with a southern drawl.

  • Well isn't this just special:

"Veteran lineman Wyatt Teller said he thinks he’s only heard Sanders’ candence two or three times before Sunday, so it was a learning experience for everyone else as well."

Pretty much tells me they haven't given him a second thought since draft day. Now why does this NOT surprise me!

He’s a raw QB prospect that fell to the 5th round for a reason, and IMO if it was up to Stefanski he would have been the #3 QB all season.

Actually if it was up to Stefanski he probably wouldn’t have been drafted at all and Gabriel would’ve been the third QB behind veterans Flacco and Pickett, but higher ups had different ideas

Maybe true, but you still have to have him ready through practice to take over for an injured DG in a heartbeat. I guarantee you the Texas A&M coach has the 2nd stringer ready to go as does any decent HC on any level. In fact Reed went into the injury tent in one of the early games and the 2nd stringer took them down the field for a TD before Reed was cleared to return. Having #2 ready is especially so when you have the worst OL in pro football. Injury was inevitable.

If we ignore completely Sanders was elevated to QB2 above Gabriel in camp and was given the 1st work in pre-season, even despite Gabriel's injury.

     Your comment is... asinine.

I think I’m going to have a long form rambling post tonight that will cover this… I have some thoughts on this entire organization and the microphone and all of you will listen to every goddamn thought I have ?

  •  We'll be taking a raw, first draft look at all of Shedeur Sanders snaps against BLT tonight, on the RT9 discord, at 7:00pm EST.
