It doesn't matter who the owner or GM is... if you need a QB, there's literally only one QB in this class anyone would consider.

BINGO!  This looks like a good spot to put some thoughts.

The Patriots were 3-14 during Drake Maye's rookie year.  The final game they won against Buffalo (resting starters for the playoffs) - Maye threw 1 pass and took 1 sack before he was replaced so he won 2 games.  As fate would have it - their coaching staff was replaced and the Patriots drafted LT Will Campbell with their 4th pick overall.

Sanders is 6 NFL starts old so YES  - he's going to hold onto the ball longer than he should sometimes.  That said, we're also seeing him starting to step up in the pocket more than we did early on in spite of the lack of protection on the edges.  Aside from that, Buffalo gave Fannin a lot of attention while our WR Corps refused to let the Buffalo Bills down with just 6 receptions in 9 targets for 31 yards.  Any wonder why many of us hope the Browns upgrade WR & OTackle with early picks?  The problem is when we do the simulator - we don't realize we're drafting RTs (even Mauigoa) while Goosby & Lomu are LTs.  I say that because the # of top LTs in this draft are get em early or they're gone. Sorry, I have ZERO control over the supply for the demand. Staying with what he have here has us goin for our 2nd consecutive 3 win season. Ummm, NO THANKS!  Just our luck, it looks like our second 1st round pick is going to be very close to the 2nd round.

  • After seeing the Bills game, surely QB cannot be our first priority. While not ""legendary"" by any means, Shedeur is serviceable enough to give a legit shot. Bot he and the RBs are in desperate need of a better OL in front of them. Would also be nifty if would could stop the run now and then.

So OL, DT and a buddy for Schweinburger?

OLine, WR, DTackle and CB would be my major wants this coming offseason. I think Devin Bush has been a real find by Berry. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by him.

  • My current  view:   If you (the Browns drafting decision makers) think that Mendoza is the only QB to have with a high pick...AND you think that he's going to be substantially better than Sanders...then make a bid to get him.  QB is that important.  But with Sanders we seem to have something to build on...so you cannot overpay for Mendoza.  We need our draft assets to immediately impact the WR & OL positions.

If the Mendoza price is too high, then pick a player or trade out to a spot where you can still get the best WR or OLineman.  Those two positions have to be emphasized throughout the draft and free agency.

Good point about Bush; but let's keep in mind he was a 10th overall pick of the Steelers in 2019 coming out of Michigan after running a 4.43.  From what I read a torn ACL in his 2nd NFL season set him back.  His dad Devin Bush Sr was a 13th overall pick as a Safety by the Houston Oilers in 1995.  Looks like he sports some of the old man's strengths against the pass; because that seems to be where I see him making a lot of plays.  I need to pay more attention as to how he does against the run because we have been getting gashed in recent weeks.  I think some of this is Schwartz trying to get Myles his sacks at the expense of stopping the run.

    A+

  • ....talkin' about the game yesterday:  🙂

“Watching this [Browns-Buffalo] game and I swear #68 must have a parlay on this game or something. This guy can’t block the sun. Entire OL is trash though. Shedeur can shoot a [Tide] commercial after this game as much as he’s been on his back,” Owens wrote on X.

....he's got 2 more games to tough-out with that OL.

    See All

  • who knows with berry and steflunski still there.

    But, change that, and....

the pick has to be a star, a true blue chippie All-pro type of player, that will dynamically add to the Browns with this high pick.

    So, I'm guessing -

Caleb Downs, safety. He will be just that. Can the Browns pass up a talent like his? They need to, I guess.

Jordan Tyson - WR1 - the deep threat, explosiveness, size....a brilliant and tough player.

Carnell Tate - second to Tyson because of top end speed, maybe. But has Tyson's other qualites - and hasn't been injured (Tyson has), and did not drop a pass all season.

So, the Browns would then go OT/OG with the second pick in the first, and the second round pick.

maybe. who knows. That is just a quick look in my goofy opinion. It's a nice draft for WR's, but the Browns can pick one of them later on to add to a weak wr group.

They NEED OT but without a trade down, not sure there is one worth the #4? pick. Very confusing, this 2026 draft for the Browns.

  • K.C. Concepcion WR A&M has declared for the draft. He's better than anyone we currently have, so if he's there in the 3rd, I'd take him in a heartbeat. Very shifty after the catch. Far better hands than Jeudy.

I think Dante Moore is going back to Oregon, which means we probably weren't going to be in a position to get a haul for our #2 overall pick.

Honestly, with what we need and the way this draft is shaking out being at #6 is going to be fine.

The Raiders have positioned themselves for Mendoza anyway.  Nobody's prying him from them.  It's not the end of the world that we move down 3 spots...as long as there's an OT or WR there worthy of the pick.

  • the Browns, so far pick sixth?

Here's what I think the choices are:

    OT Francis Mauigoa, Miami (FL)

    WR Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State

    WR Carnell Tate, Ohio State

    which one?

    eh..........

Maybe I see Tate as similar to Mike Evans.

    So, my pick would be........................

Carnell Tate. My LT pick, even though he may not be there where the Browns pick later in the first round, is:

    Trevor Goosby, LT, Texas.

    So far,

with the third round pick, the Browns trade it and whatever else,

and Njoku, to move up to the top ten of the second round and draft:

    Drew Shelton, ROT/LOT, Penn State.

that is so far what I think.
