    Awesome!!  Well deserved

  • Sanders will never, ever be an NFL QB if he doesn’t speed up his internal play clock.

True, but c'mon, a rookie behind a bad line. Way too soon to judge.

Don’t forget the WR’s that could not get open

after the half I thought he did well with the hurry up and passing for yards because of play action, so  I am guessing you must be related to nickers some how

  • I’m not a Sanders hater. I’d love nothing more for the dude to be the next franchise QB. I’ll admit he’s been better than I thought he could be, and he absolutely has a spot on an NFL roster.

I’m sorry though, you can see whether guys after several starts have that “it” factor of understand the mental play clock and speed of aN NFL game or not. Even if it doesn’t amount to wins and losses, it’s just evident on tape.  essentially All rookie QBs go to bad teams- to use that an excuse is trivial to me.

Maybe that story isn’t written, and I’ll also clearly admit Sanders is working on it. But if he plays like he did today, the man won’t ever be more than a backup.

  • Very happy for Szmyt... everyone wanted him out of Cleveland after the opener vs the Bengals, ended up having a very good season and redeems himself with a game winning FG vs... the Bengals.

you mean like this guy, cause he sure had  a shit career

  • Annnnd there’s the yearly “but Peyton Manning sucked his rookie year!”

to be painfully blunt, someone’s rookie season who was during a time you could walk right to the gate at the airport isn’t an apt comparison. Friends was a great show but the jokes get pretty dated after almost 30 years later, ya know. same concept for making this argument.

  • Fun game, great to see Myles get the record, Shedeur had his first game winning drive but the book's still open on him. Would not be surprised if the Browns traded up for a QB. Szmyt redeemed himself during the season and capped it off with the game winner against the team that almost got him fired (by us the fans).

  • Good game to watch. I get a little nostalgic with last games of the season sometimes. It was likely Bitonio’s last game, and even though it was a down season he had a helluva career with us.

Maybe Stefanski’s last game too? We’ll see. At the very least he set the bar as the best head coach we’ve had since “the return.”

Sanders looked kinda meh to me. I wouldn’t be super confident anointing him as QB1 just yet. They’ll probably sign a vet or 2 to mix it up with him and Gabriel and see what shakes out next year.

  • 1. Sanders has a slow clock. He threw a few nice passes again, but seems to be wired one way, and that seems to be un-rewirable. unrewireable. whatever, lol. Doesn't have a great arm. But holding the ball in his outstretched hand after changing hands....in heave traffic? I guess that is coachable, but we don't have a hc that leads and teaches and corrects, I think. And, he is slow to take off and run, seems awkward. His clock may very well always be what it is. Draft a qb in the later rounds next year. After the 3rd round.

    2. Sanders did get them into field goal position to win the game, BUT the defense scored both touchdowns. The two field goals alone would have made for an embarrassing loss.

    3. The defense was terrific, despite a few injuries and not being able to stop Jamar Chase. And Garrett is now a legend - the record is an amazing feat. All the two on ones, oline HOLDING, constant chipping, he still owns that record. That is serious stuff right there. Oh, and offenses were going with quick throws and running plays away from Miles most of the game.

Thank you, Miles, for never given up on the Browns and us fans.

    4. Despite Sanders' slow mental clock - the oline is not all what it needs to be, the wr group is dismal, and Fannin being hurt and not in the game hurts the offense, and a meathead HC with no spirit on the sidelines.

    5. Steflunkski needs to go. Maybe Schwartz should become HC, and bring in a top OC. Schwartz is going to become a hc one of these days.

    6. The Browns defense is all Schwartz and asst coaches. It's time for Schwartz to be a head coach - and he will be - and it will be the Browns' loss if it isn't with the Browns.

    https://clevelandmagazine.com/articles/all-in-the-details-browns-new-defensive-coordinator-jim-schwartz-brings-different-pedigree-to-the-job/

    7. Steflunski is like a soft cotton towell in a pouring rain. Still there, but useless. He's a follower, not a leader, he only knows the offense he has, doesn't make changes to a plan anytime, and isn't an inspiration to any offense. Sure, I don't really know, but that is what it seems like to me.

    8. The Browns rbs are a great bunch - but they lead the league in being tackled/touched behind the los.

    9. I need some root beer....

But I’m sure stats are just garbage right? This is worse than Deshone Kizer just as an FYI.

and to your original point- if you can’t put together common sense and understand how categorically different playing QB in 1998 was compared to 2025 it’s not worth the time spelling it out man.

He needs to be quicker. He also needs some weapons and an O-Line. And some more reps.

The 3rd and 10 play on the game winning drive shows what we needed to see. Climbing up in the pocket, eyes staying downfield, and accurate throw to Bond for a first down sideline comeback…
A few plays later, a precise throw to Jeudy that was almost dropped. Clutch QB play.

I am glad we don’t have to waste a first rounder on Mendoza or Moore.
