That's exactly what's going to happen. Don't forget.....we have the 2 smartest men in the world making these decisions.

  • I get the sick feeling we're going to sign this Sheelhaas child.. God Jimmy is gonna fuck this up again... I can feel it..

FIFY-what the Browns don't quite get is that the interviewees are actually the interviewers deciding whether they want to be anywhere near this ownership & FO. Best ones are flunking the Browns interviewees.

  • How come no one is mentioning Matt Burke??

I could be wrong but I think McDaniels is at his dream job. NE is his ultimate safety net. I'm not sure that I'd trust his heart would ever leave Foxborough. He's in his third stint.

Some things are just meant (or meant not) to be.

How Andrew Berry's remarks lead Grant Udinski to be frontrunner for Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry's remarks moments after firing Kevin Stefanski bode well for Jacksonville's 30-year-old offensive coordinator.

"Berry went on to monologue about how Stefanski, who won two Coach of the Year awards, interviewed for Cleveland’s job twice, and the Browns were the only team interested in him during both of those hiring cycles."

Which is why he has never been able to hack it being outside of the Kraft sphere of influence.

Yup because here's what is gonna happen...  DEI Berry is gonna hire Sheelhaas based on DEI and they get their "yes" man....  This kid looks like a deer in head lights who hasn't proven anything... They will have another shit season so Jimmy can tank for Arch.. Then fire Berry and Sheelhaas for having another shit season... Garrett will ask for a trade by mid season... Call me crazy but thats how I see it going down... It's just so "Cleveland"

While we would all like a more seasoned playcaller, and I get he looks young; just watching some of his clips & handing McVay plays to use - he looks about the furthest from "deer in head lights" you can get.

Young, yes.  Inexperienced? -  Argument for it.  Dude has a brilliant football mind and it stands out on a coaching staff of great offensive minds.    It's a matter of *when*, not *if*, with this kid.

I'm not into DEI either, but let's stay positive here. I know that's hard for us fans.

DePodesta is gone, perhaps a huge obstacle in the draft/FA signings. It's very possible he handcuffed Berry & the scouting staff

The "yes man" stuff is more of my concern.

    There's way too many answers...

If Jim Schwartz heads to the Rats - the guy the Browns are interviewing/interviewed today Chargers DC Jesse Minter is a very strong candidate with an impressive background.  He might even have a more thorough understanding of coverages at the back end than Schwartz fwiw.

  • Schwartz invited for second interview and rumors Monken will also get a second interview next week.

Intriguing hire, Schwartz's defense is good but not the most modern.

  • FWIW, when we get too many offensive coaches thrown together ping ponging different ideas (with a possibility they're not all on the same page) - that's too many chiefs trying to throw 1 spear.  The best OC I've seen here was in 1986 (Lindy Infante) - who just so happened to be a bust as a Head Coach in GB when he left here.  The irony of that point is the GREAT OC (Infante) had the former DC (Marty) that worked under Sam Rutigliano when he was the HC here.

What I'm getting at is maybe the offense will do better if just Rees is in charge rather than bringing in a new offense for Rees to learn.  The Browns look like they'll be done with all their 1st interviews by the time the Combines are done.

Just because he's black doesn't mean it's a DEI hire. Which other ethnic minority has been invited to interview by the Browns? ESPN did a whole segment on this guy so he must be impressing people outside his clubhouse and he was also the Steeler's first interview request.
