I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Lerner asks one of these guys to join his team.

Didn't the ownership of the browns ask cowher before they hired mangini?

I believe they did, and Cowher informed them that he's waiting at least 1 season before he thinks about coaching again.

Sorry, but the decision has already been made. Deal with it, accept it and move the ef on.

I can't help it the Browns suck sheet. You probably would have wanted to fire Parcells after his 1983 season with the Giants.

                        GUYS.

Cowher isn't coming here. Please. Parcells isn't coming here. Even funnier. Shanahan isn't coming here. Neither are Jon Gruden, Tony Dungy, Mike Holmgren, Vince Lombardi, Tom Landry, Bear Bryant, Joe Paterno, Walter Camp or John Heisman.

Why would anyone of stature or anyone who has had even a modicum of success step foot on this sinking ship?

Assuming he gets fired, I'd assume Jim Zorn will be Lerner's preference... Lerner's got stats that show the best coaches are the ones who were fired before... and of course he'll move swiftly to lock Zorn up before someone else grabs such a hot commodity. Then I expect he'll let Zorn pick the GM for the team - because why WOULDN'T you want a previously fired coach who no one else wants determine who should be the GM?

Seriously you guys are being a bit hard on Mangini - sure he's an a-hole who can't be trusted to stand by his word that he'd stand by the winner of the QB competition and comes up with draconian fines... but how the hell do you expect him to field a competitive team when players are walking out of hotel with $3 water bottles? What's next - pilfering ketchup packs at fast food joints? It just goes downhill from there and before you know it, the seasons ruined.
