So what?.. Move on.. Steflunkski is gone..

That's not the point.  The point is he hired Bill Callahan.  I assume that WE wanted Bill Callahan.

Well wanting and "getting" are two different things... We got neither... Would've been nice but it is what it is...

Sure.  Because why would anyone want to work for the Haslam families when there are plenty of other options?

after haslams' watson horrendous debacle, yeah, what established coach would want to come here? the arrogant haslams should sell the team to a DECENT owner. I'm still glad steflunksi is gone. They were talking tonight on the radio, I was running a few errands.... about if others picked Atlanta or the Browns to get to the playoffs first. Three in a row that I heard....picked Atlanta - the primary reason being the haslams are screwups.

Would McDermott even entertain a position here? I can't imagine we're going to get anyone other than some 30 year old coordinator with no HC experience. Can't say I'm excited about it.

It's going to take a remarkable sales job to bring in a veteran coach.

McDaniel already told the Browns "no" on his anticipated 2nd interview.

Players talk, coaches talk among themselves too. Sadly, the Browns only have a perception of a losing culture.

Sounds like McD was basically fired 5 weeks ago per reports. He told his staff he would bring them with him if he got another gig.

I'm not broken hearted at all about this news.

McDaniel is not a leader of men.

That's not at the top of everyone's list in 2026, but it's still important to me.

At what point does Schwartz feel insulted by Dumb and Dumber in this HC search?  He really needed 2 interviews?PROMOTE the guy already and let him hire his OC.

Can Saturday Night Live handle this one for us?

    Yes.

I will admit and I have already. The only thing that could possibly turn this clown show into something spectacular for entertainment was Mike McDaniel intelligent but aloof/sarcasm dueling it out with Grossi.

We need a different tune I believe in the locker room maybe not biting kneecaps attitude although that may resonate with some.

Buffalo's GM (Brandon Beane) not only remains but he also got promoted in the organization beyond just being the GM.  He is now he is now the GM and President of Football Operations. Think about it - the team lost with a lot of Beane's personnel choices.  Beane got the promotion & raise while the HC playing the gridiron chess with those choices got the boot.

Good points!  Unfortunately, the Browns aren't a good recruiting attraction for top candidates so I don't understand why they don't offer the job to Schwartz.  I trust his decision making on who he wants to hire for Assistants far more than Berry and/or Jimmy.

Don’t forget thin ice Berry.  The mistake was already made you clean house and this might change the view of the job

  • *MIGHT* get lucky & fall upward into McD, provided he can bring some quality assistants.

Turns out, you should be careful what you wish for.

Oh, for the Fantasy Football group - if it isn't Gibbs, Bijan is 1.01 now.

Lol, can't imagine why someone with expertise in offense wouldn't want to work with Andrew Berry.

I understand...but it speaks volumes.  This is the youngest, least experienced guy, looking for his first HC gig...and tells Haslam, Nah, I already talked with you...ain't no way I'm working for you.

I saw a video clip of Haslem answering questions.  He was trying to show that he's an unsatisfied fan too by his tone, body language, while saying that winning 8 games in 2 years is unacceptable.  'I understand that, just like you passionate fans do'.

In firing only Stefanski, and acting so upset, he's saying, AND IT'S ALL THAT GUY'S FAULT,  like a spoiled little brat.  The guy that got a team to the playoffs having to play almost the whole season with some of the worst QB's I've ever seen a team have to start.....HE deserves to be labeled as the problem?

We're not the only ones who know that Stef didn't have a QB, OLine or WR's for the last two years plus.  (Syd)  Thus it was impossible for a coach to come up with much more than that.  The agents research the teams for their clients.  They tell 'em the lay of the land.

I understand that Stef has been here for several years, we're not winning, it's a good time to make a change...But don't ever, at the podium, make it seem like it was all the HC's fault.  Because in reality, it's your fault.  It's YOUR decision making, interceding, involvement with the actual 'football people' in the organization that is constantly stunting what the 'football people' want to do.  -  He's a freakin' dope!  I'm pissed.  Mrs. Wife is out.  I'm gonna grab a Gibson and crank the amp!!!

  • If we can't attract McDaniels we can forget about McDermott. New HC will most likely be one of the young kids: Udinski or Scheelhaase, Schwartz is a distant 3rd. Buckle up we either get our own Chuck Knoll or everything's blown up in 2 years.

If there is one NFL owner who would hire him to stick it to the other NFL owners, it'd probably be Haslam.

Stop it with the Gruden.  🙂

He's a dope.  There ain't anybody interviewing him.  And a third of the league needs a HC.

Does a world exist in which McDermott is hired amd retains Schwartz as DC?

WELL said!   And his little tea sipper assistant wants everyone to think the same about him too.  After all, he went to Harvard like Sashi Eats-Sushi did too he gave us 1 good draft the entire duration their Scapegoat Stefanski had was sentenced to it.

As much as I don't want McDaniel - I applaud the guy for his fraud-radar. It's time we come to grips here.  While they're insulting Schwartz with a 2nd Interview - they don't even understand who he is or HOW the defense LOVED playing heir asses off for him despite the record.  Those guys had fun despite circumstance. The 2 spoiled tea sippers are so far removed from understanding how to compete in their own division that they just totally screwed up what should have been an easy promotion.  I wouldn't blame Schwartz if he took another job; but I hope we keep him somehow.  This is what it feels like rooting for a team that says "NO THANKS" to divine intervention trying to help it.
